The first time I ever heard a Grimes song was at a Lana Del Rey concert. She was the opening act, and my friend and I had never heard of her before. We heard this live and it blew my mind and took me to another realm. It was cold and raining, and the people around me got up and began frolicking in the rain in their different colored ponchos and flower crowns. I will never forget that. (it was at Tinley Park if anyone else was there)

I'm 31 now, and I had just turned 21 when this song surfaced. I remember driving around town all summer, listening to this. Those days of being a young millennial seem so far away now. No tik tok in sight, just the early days of Insta and snap chat. Going to Underground music shows with friends, and thinking I was one of the cool kids. Everytime I hear this song, the nostalgia/memories it brings of being young and care free is just overwhelming. I was once that college hipster that adored grimes, where I saw her play live at a music festival. Now I'm just a regular suburban mom lol, who happens to listen to Genesis from time to time.

The psychedelic vibe to it, the vocals, the drums/instrumental etc I can go on and on. The music videos was basic but the track was ahead of it time compared to music released now.

I first heard this about a year ago in some restaurant, loving the song so much, I didn't think to take my phone out and Shazam it. I tried looking for hours that day, searching "my heart will never die" on Google and even calling up the restaurant to find out which radio station they were playing (turned out to be a playlist). As soon as I heard a Grimes song earlier on, I knew they sang the song they were looking for so I went through Spotify and finally found it.

Bansky of course not lol... I’m an Elon fan, I didn’t know Grimes until she had his baby. I’m just going by what went down on Twitter a few days ago between Elon and Grimes’ mom, plus the whole pronunciation of her name and the “back and forth” that’s been in the media over that.

This song sounds like a portal to the future, it's so *otherworldly*

Agree. (I think that's one reason they chose her to be one of the artists for Cyberpunk, which needed music that sounds futuristic. And she nailed it.)

I can understand the visceral feeling you receive from this song, I too receive it. I mean, in a sense, that is the book of Genesis. God bless you my friend, and God bless us all.

Grimes had a serious knack for that during this album, makes the nostalgia 10 times more intense 😢

This song may seem lighthearted and fun at the beginning, but there’s so much meaning and sadness behind it. The eerie/echoing instrumentals perfectly match the lyrics in a loop which describe a never ending cycle. Meeting someone, not being sure about what you’re feeling or what you want, and only acknowledging it when you get your heart broken. It perfectly portrays the feeling of being lost and confused, and feeling like there’s something wrong with you (i never feel, i never see, i never know).

She said that for the longest time she didn’t think some songs had words, she still doesn’t know how it happened to her but she knows now. I thought that it was just me but maybe this song was around this time. She has a beautiful voice

You do get that this is not her real voice. She does lot of mixing, even her voice is electronically altered. She's sounds like a normal person otherwise.

I remember hearing this song for the first time at a random house party when I was 17 - we were watching RAGE on tv at 3am and this song came on ❤️ we were entranced and I’ve listened to Grimes ever since (a decade)
