As a British guy with no hope of going to the States unless I magically come across a plane ticket and some money I cant think of a movie location more magic then standing next to the house from ET. To me it is THE film of my childhood-I am very grateful though to watch this video and join you remotely!

Mr Chopsticks, same here!! She doesn't understand what I am so fascinated about. I just love seeing where something (especially a movie like ET that had a huge impact on my childhood) was filmed, and maybe even letting my imagination go that the movie actually did happen at that location.

Saw E.T. at a drive-in theater in Northern California in the summer of 1982. I remember that the sound was terrible, and from the angle of the car, we could see Poltergeist playing on another screen. Two bonafide classics were on at once. That's how it was back then. Great movies were coming out constantly. We saw E.T. at a proper indoor theater later that summer. A very vivid childhood memory. Will see if I can get out and see these locations soon. So blessed to live in Southern California where we can see all these places.

That path you were on at the end also is in the scene where Elliot was riding his bmx at the start of the movie. You can see the exact spot from the top of Stewarton Drive. We've walked that path as well, as well as visiting the ET House. It was indeed an honour. Hey have you been to Carroll Ave in Angelino Heights yet? Lots of old school creepy houses, including Michael Jackson "Thriller house" (which I believe was also used in the series "Charmed".)

Great video! I saw a sneak preview of "E.T." in the cinema shortly before it was released in 1982. It's the ONLY film I've ever seen where the audience gave it a STANDING OVATION (excluding midnight movies or a festival showing). E.T. was a phenomenon...

Wonderful job on this, point to notice in the scene where Elliott and ET fly over the cops the cops have guns, in the anniversary edition of the movie Spielberg removed them and put walkie talkies in their hands, I see you used the original clip, great job.

Spielberg changed it to the walkie talkies for the 20th Anniversary edition. He then since changed it back or the ‘original’ scene with guns for the 30th Anniversary edition. Great film. Amazing.

Another great video. I love the lining up of specific scenes and current locations. To me, one of the coolest things this video shows is the maturation of the neighborhoods and all the growth of the landscaping and trees. As someone who grew up in CA, through the expansion explosion I remember when new neighborhoods were....new.

A great video! Thanks for sharing! Got enough ads in there! I remember when this movie had first come out back in 1982. They played it all summer long that year. Boy I miss the 1980's. The good old days those were!

I grew up in that neighborhood. For years everyone was talking about the movie, park scenes, friends backyards that were in the scenes etc. We call that ET park where the caterpillar is. Also many homes were still being built and I remember riding our bikes through the neighborhood and dirt lots before walls were put up. Those homes on White Oak with the over hanging trees were some of the first homes in that area of the valley. They were “citrus” homes built for the orange pickers in early 1900s
