I just installed mine today. Excellent. Of better quality than if it was done by the factory. Very good workmanship.

The stock prop rod is so short you can’t work on this car without the Grimmspeed hood Struts. Most worthwhile mod and easy to install

I'm going to be ordering mine this weekend, I've seen different designs that required way more work.

I have a few vintage mercedes w123 r107 and w115...all use a spring actuated hood lift. I would like to replace this design with a shock system similar to the GrimmSpeed...is there some generic kit I can adapt for my cars? Louis

Louis, Sounds like you have some neat projects going on! At this moment, our two hood strut kits are very specific to the application, not very universal. Trying to make a universal kit with an product like this would be very hit or miss, since the length of the gas strut is very critical. I am sure if you get creative you would be able to adapt some of the parts to work with your application. Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. -Matt Homes Operations

Is this built and assembled in the United States? China? I found the opening of the hood video.
