Hey so I recently installed the gesi v2 on my wrx, it’s paired up with the tomie exhaust but i used the original stock donut gasket when putting the j pipe and tomie together so was that needed or I should take it off and just connect the j pipe with gasket and exhaust

If the Tomei has 3 inch flange, then you should be able to just mate it up with a 3 inch gasket.

Did mine a couple years ago. Just got a code for bad rear O2 sensor so ordered a new one. Just put my car up on ramps and looked underneath and found my ground strap dangling. It’s still connected to the j pipe, but somehow broke off from where it connects to the car, unsure of what size I need to order a new one as well as where to order a new one. Would love some input. Maybe Grimmspeed can send me a replacement one?

Is the included J pipe-to-mid pipe gasket all that’s needed to pair the GrimmSpeed J-pipe to the Cobb SS Cutback’s mid pipe or would one of those thicker donut-shaped adaptor gaskets be required for a proper seal?

I have a question about your carted version. It appears as though you've located the cat towards the rear of the pipe, much farther down than the O2 sensors. How does that work if the pre and post O2 sensors are upstream of the cat? Would that cause a CEL on a car with a Cobb stage 2+ tune?

i talked to a guy from cobb about using a catless jpipe. they were saying that it could cause boost creep even with the stage 2 tune. i talked to a couple other places and they said that is false. what is your take on it grimmspeed?

A catless J pipe will cause Boost Creep regardless. There are ways to help fight it like installing an EBCS. Imo it's worth to go catless. The sound is impeccable.

We've heard of tuners having issues with their O2 sensors if using a JPipe without a ground strap. This is the reason that we've included them.

I found I couldn't get leverage to loosen the 2 bolts you are talking about. For any future DIY installs, this is what I did. I opened up the hood and went from the top down. Much more leverage and room to work with. I ended up using an extension on extension and a breaker bar in order to loosen the 14mm one. The 12mm one was in a good spot that I could just use a breaker bar. I believe an impact driver can fit in both of these areas. Now to finish removing the exhaust manifold nuts .. 2 down, 2 to go xD

Maybe a silly question but is there a difference between downpipe for an automatic WRX vs a manual WRX. Looking for a turbo back exhaust set up for my 2015 FXT and no a lot of WRX/STI parts are plug and play, but wasn’t sure about DP and up pipe

For the 2015+ WRX the automatic transmission is larger than the manual one, so our downpipe/j-pipe will not clear the transmission for installation as it was designed specifically for the 6 speed trans. The 15+ WRX will also not have an "up-pipe" in it's exhaust setup.

Studs can become corroded and be very hard to get off. PB blaster is your friend in these situations. Luckily, they are replaceable!

Fit not sure. Can you make it, probably with modifications... needs a tune, yes... simple rule of thumb, anytime changing air or fuel, needs a tune.

My mechanical skills aren't the best, but I have people that can help that are great with working on cars. Also, I've read that this exhaust adds horsepower and torque. Is there anything that needs to be recalibrated to receive that added horsepower and torque, or is it just simply installing this J-pipe? Any help would be great!

Hey bro literal just finished installing it today. Started at 10 am and picked up my kids also from school. Just soak the nuts in pb blaster the night before and while loosening and your golden, be patient and they till all come out. Pretty easy weekend project for sure.

+krinkin99 how did you find the fit and finish, quality of the Turbo XS jpipe? I was going to buy the GS catted version for 15 WRX on sale but the Turbo XS is less expensive and saves me some good coin. Would love the GS 1 piece but finances dictate right now. With installation of the Turbo XS pipe were you able to use all factory heatsheilds as in this video, I know some downpipes don't allow so or holes don't line up

Grimmspeed j pipe is top notch and like all high quality parts it comes at a cost. Personally if you live in a harsh natural environment (like I do in colorado) longterm would be grimmspeed just because of the chloride they put in the streets not good on chrome parts plus grimmspeed has a thicker j pipe and can be purchased coated. Other than that I have zero complaints about turbo xs on quality on sound. The ends are nicely mounted and for the price I can say nothing can come close for a catted j pipe. Also the inside is nicer than the invidia j pipe I had seen in person. Just my two cents.

+krinkin99 how about use of the factory heatshield plates , are you able to use these on the Turbo XS pipe, I realize the GS is top notch for sure, the flange fits perfect as they will out a portion of it for spot ion fitment and I like fact it allows use of the factory heatshields once installed, nice bonus they include turbo studs if one needs. I am in PNW, lots of rain but overall mild winters

+La Ghoulstra (Cisco Kidd) Turbo XS only comes with bolts & gasket for intermediate pipe. Not the gasket to j pipe (which is highly recommended to replace to avoid leaking). Was able to re-use heat shields per my install shop but did have to move around a little bit. Hope this helps.
