I appreciate your understanding of geometry, ergonomics, and other aspects of knives that affect function.

I like that you talk about a knife in it’s ability to cut, instead of how it serves as pocket jewelry.

Goodness gracious the tip where the primary edge meets the tanto on this knife is so freaking useful. I love every millimeter of mine

For what its worth, I recently picked up a new mint november 2019 norseman for $725. I see them going for that price recently on the forums. Any knife makers that send the tool with the knife to encourage maintenance like CRK and Grimsmo deserve my business.

Very detailed. Nice to see a Norseman that actually gets used. Great video!

Great review. I just watched Nick’s re-review of the Norseman and found yours much more informative. I snagged a Norseman today for a really good price, low enough that I might actually carry and use it. Great points were the milled clip and rough scale material. So many milled clips are terrible to actually use because there is hardly any ramped area to get it in the pocket. Millit clips for CRKs come to mind. TERRIBLE to use. I have many of them but only for safe queens or stuff I carry in a sheath. I hate rough scales too. My Hinderer Full Track was unusable for pocket carry with the factory G10 so I had to get brass scales made for it.

Great review! Thanks for your commentary on the usefulness of the recurve. What about the modified tanto portion? How does this serve in your edc?

Great observations, eye for detail, and physio-kinetic knowledge. This may be the most comprehensive single knife review I've ever seen.

Speaking of tantos I’d love it if Hinderer started using the hellfire grind in the production knives

Thanks for the review. I just picked up some double thumb studs for my Norseman from Geckocustomz. You should check them out if you like to spider flick.

Having just the tip out so you don’t over-penetrate can be an excellent strategy.. Well put lol.

I love my Norseman. It's been my pandemic carry since lockdown in early March 2020. I disinfect it every day with rubbing alcohol, and it's help up well. Easy to disinfect all surfaces. Crazy sharp. Thin and light. Rock solid. Love it.

Ha ha. Pants are expensive...buys $1000+ knife. I agree regarding wallets. My father-in-laws thinks I am stupid because I buy higher end handmade wallets since he still carries a Velcro wallet he bought in 1983. :)

First video I've seen from this creator. For some reason I felt like I was being lectured through this video. That aside, some really good info and a nice review.

What's with that blade? Can you stab something or someone with it? That shape makes no sense to me.
@jesseclift37433 жыл бұрын
If you can stab someone with a dull butter knife im sure you can stab someone with a sharpened modified tanto
@klausfiedler643 жыл бұрын
@@jesseclift3743 You can stab someone with a ballpoint pen or pencil. Maybe the weird knife shape means it's not considered a weapon under Canadian law since it seems to be hobbled in that sense.
@jesseclift37433 жыл бұрын
@@klausfiedler64 oh, are you from there? Interesting point. What are knife laws like in Canada? You can't just carry any pocket knife?
@klausfiedler643 жыл бұрын
@@jesseclift3743 It's tricky and vague. The only self defense preparation you are allowed is a pair of sneakers. You can carry a knife but have to be able to prove a legitimate need for it as a tool in the circumstances you are carrying it. It cannot be for self defense. If then you were attacked you can use the knife as long as you weren't carrying the knife in anticipation of needing it for self defense. And the use of the weapon has to be proportionate??? The Grimsmo knives are made in Canada so maybe the unique shape does make for better support for a claim that it is only a tool since it would seem to me that something with a sharp pointy shape would make a better weapon.
@klausfiedler643 жыл бұрын
@@2001SuperGlideSport1 Yes, slashing sounds good. But sometimes you might just want to get right inside and tickle an organ or two with a penetrating thrust. In Canada, in winter, that might mean getting through a goose feather coat, sweater, shirt and an undershirt. Layers, you know, that's were it's at in cold weather.

$900 for rwl 34 steel. Grimsmo is like Rolex. Great marketing but virtually no innovation. I really did try to watch your videos on this knife and try to convince myself to keep mine but the low grade steel. The sloppy bounce out in the closing action which I don’t understand why this knife is praised for it action. A knife should not bounce out of its detent no exceptions. I mean it’s a long list of things that should make this knife more like $300 but hey I know a lot of people who buy knives just to say they have that brand and model. Shirogorov is on a whole different level. Grimsmo is just really good at marketing through social media.
@bjdunne51132 жыл бұрын
I thought you could tighten the pivot a little to prevent the bounce out?
