In his defense: I haven’t read the book, but in the movie it implies that the Grinch isn’t a Who (maybe another race or species idk). The Who’s would’ve been adapted and evolved to tolerate loud noises, but because Grinch isn’t like them its unbearable for him because he hasn’t naturally adapted like they have

Counterpoint: If the Who were killed by the animals, the Grinch would also have died. The dandelion wherr the Who's world was also was put in a safe spot at the end, wasn't it?
