I’ve always thought that the reason the grinch’s lair in this version is a lot more ‘normal’ looking was bc this version of the grinch is supposed to be a bit more relatable than previous versions. he acts more like an everyday asshole rather than a cartoonishly disgusting beast. even the interactions in this version are more relatable, like being annoyed with an overly friendly neighbor putting up huge obnoxious lights or being tired of the same Christmas songs playing on the radio.

This is definitely one of the better Illumination movies. Benedict Cumberbatch does a great job voicing the Grinch, and I especially love all the planning and set up done before the big heist.

My brother and I theorized that the little boy running to his new parents at 8:02 is Bricklebaum. And that makes sense to why Bricklebaum considers him and Grinch friends, since they were in the orphanage together. And that explains why Grinch hates Bricklebaum cause he got himself a family and he didn't.

Hi Rukiya and Happy New Year to you and to the channel. If you enjoyed The Grinch (2018) I highly recommend you watch _Horton Hears a Who (2008)_ and _The Lorax (2012)_ and the _Despicable Me_ films the latter two films being animated at Illumination which did the 2018 Grinch film.

To be honest with you I kinda liked the illumination version of the grinch cause of the animation and I thought it was pretty wholesome at some parts but I understand if you don’t like it there are some stuff in there that didn’t really need to be there but it’s a great movie in my opinion also Imma just make it clear to everyone I don’t have anything against rukiya for not liking this version I totally understand I’m not a hater overall a great reaction can’t wait to see the last one!

I’m glad you were honest because i had some people look at me sideways when. Said i didnt like this version. even though its animated it feels less expressive and creative than the Jim carry one. As soon as i saw the whovians i knew I wasn’t gonna like it because they all look the same. The only nice things i can say about this film is that it looks pretty and I like that the grinch is nicer to Max. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This one I didn’t like all that much but needless to say it doesn’t mean I hated the whole movie like I appreciate the animation I thought it was pretty good 😊 and Benedict Cumberbatch voice acting was top notch like in some parts he sounded completely different to his regular voice it shows he can do anything 😊 but the plot is what it ruined for me like it bothered me that nobody was afraid of him like he can just casually walk into town and nobody would be screaming or running away instead it felt like he was just a grumpy old Grandpa nobody liked but than again Jim’s one will always be the superior one for me❤️❤️I think it cool you’ve have done all the Grinch movies and I hope you had a great Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year too 🎉🎉🍾 and can’t wait to see the next reaction 😊😁👍👍

I personally believe that this film was intended primarily for the younger audience, i.e. children under twelve. Because the very first drawn children's cartoon about the Grinch is no longer as well known as it used to be. I didn't know it until the sixth grade when we watched it. Regarding the Jim Carrey movie, I can say that it is definitely the best I have seen so far. The comedy, Jim Carrey as the Grinch and generally the whole movie were really nice and also very funny. The problem with this film, which I have often noticed in my environment, is the following: Some find the Grinch scary and sometimes simply creepy. I believe that with this new adaptation, Illumination wanted to bring children near Grinch and, above all, to make him look more child-friendly and lovable (e.g. the whole scenes in which he treats Max badly are left out and it is more of a friendship between dog and master). It also teaches about the Spirit of Christmas, wich is again, a message to the younger audience.
