Instead of checking the microwave every couple of minutes,you can set it on defrost #3 for 5 minutes..how many minutes depend on how much your melting..by setting to defrost #3,the microwave will turn on for 30 sec and off 30 sec untill minutes are up..the on and off timing/seconds will depend on microwave but they are pretty close to each other..doing it this way slowly cooks it so you dont need to keep checking..my microwave has 5 defrost settings and the higher the number,the longer the microwave stays on before it shuts off again..hopfully this makes sence

#2 ,, I lean towards a darker color Bait some because of the water I fish is usually a more Stained, bright chartreuse, glows, oranges, yellows, electric chicken type stuff , hot pinks , Monkey Milk sometimes, black and green glitters or the holographic Type glitters that change, But I'd say both these Baits will catch fish,
