We are going to convert the Jaguar XJS to a 4x4 for an off road adventure so we purchased an old rusty 350 Chevy for parts and why not tear it down to the frame and have some fun!

I done the same thing back in the 70's. Built two of them out of Mercury Monterey's with 430 engines. I still have one frame I took 26 inches out of. I drove one all summer in 1973 to work about 5 miles. Was very dependable.

I had an old short bus that sat for 13 years before i got it, grabbed a gas can and electric fuel pump and a battery and that old 350 fired right up. Great motors regardless of what brand you prefer.

I made one of these 30 years ago from a K5 Blazer, Chevy was the good choice because parts are so interchangeable and Chevy used the same parts for years. I didn’t destroy mine like whistlin but the transmission took a crap and I used the motor for another project and my dad scraped the rest before I got more ideas, I bent the rear axle so bad you could see it but it kept on running

Buick or oldsmobile 455 had the distributor on the front of the motor but the motor it that old thing is a small block 350 chevy you can tell by the headers n valve covers
