Tighter gap at least
@Fix_It_Again_Tony
@Fix_It_Again_Tony 3 жыл бұрын
Reducing the gap can help the stock ignition system if it is having trouble firing from insufficient spark energy. A colder plug can be used to help reduce pre-ignition if it is a problem. I think when you are referring to a "hotter" ignition system you are talking about an increase in spark energy. Usually in forced induction high temperatures are the enemy which is why the mixture is richer and the spark plug temperature range is decreased. I have my doubts about the longevity of this engine at 15 psi, but hopefully they will prove me wrong.

The reason it's dying when you whack the throttle is the accelerator pump shot needs to be bigger which is either a nozzle diameter change or cam change. If this type of carb uses a powerjet, block the vacuum port in the base and run a boost reference line from the charge side of the Supercharger to the power valve chamber. A piece of brake line drilled and epoxied into the PV chamber works.

@@largejoseph7914 Thats where It'd get lean. The more air you jam in it the more fuel you need. It will also make the engine run hotter as we saw with the melting Barbie hood and the glowing exhaust. When I went with the smaller pulley on my TRD blower I had to upgrade my injectors because they couldnt put out enough fuel. This lead to repeated blown head gaskets unfortunately. You could always tell when you blew yet another head gasket,you'd all of a sudden get a short term increase of HP......water just doesnt like to be compressed for some reason.

The WOT issue may be related to the accelerator pump not being adjusted properly. Since slide on the CV carb opens on vacuum it makes sense that the supercharger sucking in more air would cause it to be stuck open. The CV carb probably would have worked fine with a stronger spring, assuming the boost didn't suck out the diaphragm.

That's the same way I make my "billet" carburetor adapters for various old cars, except I use an angle grinder to cut the main body of the adapter, and a dremel if I need something like a round hole that blends into an oval. An example would be my adapters for large one barrel carburetors on early Subaru intake manifolds, the carburetor side needs to be round, and the intake side is a kind of irregular oval. Pretty amazing what can be machined with the most basic power tools if given enough time.

It totally amazes me what you fabricate with basic tools. With a milling machine or CNC machine I would love to see the results of your genius mind. As Always, May God Bless you and yours!

Basic turbo/supercharger theory says that for every atmosphere of pressure (14.7psi @ sea level) you add, the power output will double. That means this thing is in the 100 horsepower range from a 450cc single which is complete lunacy. It's rad!

Excellent job on the adapter for the carb. You have to tell us how many bowls of skill you have for breakfast each morning. Love your builds and videos.

The fact that this things motor is stock and dealing with as much boost as my tuned audi is ASTONISHING. I would kill to see dyno results vs stock numbers. You guys are absolute legends.

It’s tuning related mostly your nettle your main jet seems really close sense it does rev good on 3/4 up Throtlle! your nettle takes care of 1/4 to 3/4 of your acceleration and 1/4 and idle is your pilot jet and mix screw! Me personally I would drop the nettle down one clip if it gets better you are going in a good direction if not go up but giving elevation I would go down! It could also be your plug gap and timing sense you are boosting now!
