Grinding Quake on controller with gyro aiming.

Really glad quake live saves demos of matches so I can record them later.

the way i use gyro is by using the touchpad as a hold to be on, since i wont need the joystick otherwise and the face buttons usually are my back buttons anyways but i can still press them while using gyro. works extremely well for me, and i have peaked at GM2 on overwatch after only a month of playing the game, but since they dropped the pve i was hoping for i stopped playing the game. gyro is insanely fun to use and removes the barrier between kb&m and controllers

For competitive games, especially a game like Quake, you want the gyro to be on 24/7 or else you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. Depending on your sensitivity and how well you can stabilize the controller or track targets, having a pause or activate gyro button can make your aim too slow, unless you have a one handed controller like a joycon.

@@tekgeekster my thumb is basically always on my toggle but when i recenter i let go and put it right back on it just feels the most comfortable for me, and if im holding an angle like i used to with hanzo i could just not press the button for it to be perfectly steady, it was more of having a way to have my hand rest comfortably and the touchpad is what made it work for me

I'm super new to gyro the only way I can use it is on Fortnite. I need lots of help. Could you make a more in depth video on the setting options in Fortnite. My aim is super spastic and I just end up losing my target when they get Close to me

Give your arms someplace to rest while the controller floats freely. Like having your forearms rest on your thighs while your hands holding the controller float between them. I call this the "Man-Spreading position" I also recommend you have the vertical sensitivity set lower than horizontal. Your wrist can look up and down more easily than side to side when using a two handed controller, so lower the sensitivity before it becomes uncomfortable maxing out the camera's vertical range.

A deadzone should only be considered if you have drift that can't be calibrated out. Gyro usually already has a small (0.7%~) deadzone in most games anyway I assume.

Is there a way to make it so the gyro input isn't simulated through the stick? (Asking for emulation purposes like nintendo wii)

Yes. Just switch it to Ds4 (hold Y+Home for 5 seconds) or switch mode (hold A+Home for 5 seconds) and software like steam or emulators will detect the gyroscope without needing to press the button like a real Switch Pro or Dualshock 4 controller.

I saw users customizing the back button on DualSense in the community. Gyro is not really a gimmick! I've been a gyro mobile game user (pubgm) for 1 year and 99% of players have created great scenes using gyro

So far? Playstation 4/5 controllers. But the axp is good enough, and the extra buttons make it my daily driver.

Dude get dual gyro like joycons even, its way more comfortable and feels like youre aiming a gun. Feels like im playing vr basically
