One of my best teenage memory was seeing Grinspoon at Adelaide Unii O Ball. Phil was drunk as fark and put on an amazing show, true Aussie rock star

Nice! I'm a 37 year old Aussie who lives in the US and recently went to North Carolina (Asheville) for a trip. First of several times seeing Grinspoon was when I was about 14. Stoked to see they have fans here!
Not only standing the test of time, but still kicking ass

Started listening to these guys when I was 16. Nearly 25 years later and you guys still rock. Shit I'm old lol. Hopefully you guys can come play in Melbourne again one day. If there's any of us left after covid lol. Keep rocking

I remember a day when i was isolared and a bit alone and i couldn't feel unhappy because these guys, legends or musicians whichever, were pumping out the tunes in a live voncert on tv and i could not bring myself to accept unhappiness because Grinspoon was showing me otherwise.

American Grinspoon fan here. Been into the band since they got included into the Gran Turismo 3 soundtrack. Didn't get why Phil and the boys didn't get more love in the States - they have some really solid bangers, especially New Detention and TK&SP. Guess they were always more destined to be one of those secret-handshake groups over here. Also interesting to see Pat play a guitar that's not a Gretsch clone.
@Malkmusianful3 жыл бұрын
Also I'm shook that Phil still can sing the songs in their studio key. He's pushing 43 here (as is Pat - fuck, Joe has grey hair now). At this point most bands would lower the key just to best accommodate the changes in the lead singer's voice. And Phil should have a lower range - the strained foghorn voice he puts on for the more aggro Grinners songs (namely songs from Guide and Easy) cannot be good on his vocal cords, plus there was the time he got super-addicted to alcohol and meth. The fact that he made it to 43 and can still sing the songs with very little changes (save for censoring out "fuck" and "shit" from "Lost Control" - must be a TV broadcast) is a miracle.
