First, let's pronounce "Rupes" right ("Roo-pes") if you're at SEMA. Second, "Compared to Harbor Frieght, this is an awesome machine"? A true backhanded compliment if I ever heard one.

The design is so sweet! I was shopping around for the Harbor Freight one but couldn’t find it so I bought the G8 on Amazon and really like it but ai have only used it once but yeah, sweet so far!

I use a HF da with a 3 inch backing plate for motorcycles and have been looking for a dedicated 3 inch DA because a Rupes Nano is out of the question and budget. This maybe the ticket, I like the cord idea because that’s the common failure point so now it’s replaceable.

Flex is coming out with a polisher to compete with the nano. I don't know about pricing though

In 3” what does Rupes do that the Griot’s does not? I agree in 5” I would go for a Rupes or Flex. The G8 has 700 wats, progressive trigger, and a great price point. In 3” I would actually prefer a Griot’s. What am I missing from Rupes in 3” that makes the price jump worth while?
