I’m at a loss to express my gratitude deeply enough for your having a real person narrating this story. Not only a real person, but a talented one. For me personally, the AI ones are not listenable. They totally spoil the story. Part 2 we’ll call me a fool, made the first comment too soon, didn’t I. I guess I can say your AI’s improving, but there are still so very many mistakes and they jar terribly. Pulls you right out of the story.

Maybe forensics wasn't a thing in "this book's world". Kind of thin on details about the lack of police, lawyer, testing. Just a "Nope, it CAN'T POSSIBLY BE him who raped her!".Also, couldn't they have done a DNA test on the kid to prove who the father/rapist was? On the other hand, there's TONS of info on the 1 1/2 hours it took Pat to drive after he dropped his kids off. Same thing with the patient....a LOT of info about nothing in particular and nothing of substance.
@pattyrubley97932 ай бұрын
She was raped 3 decades ago. That's 30 years ago. DNA testing was just getting started. They were just starting rape kits. If a woman got raped, it was her fault. Especially if it was a political or important figure. Going to court over a rape was most times more traumatic than the rape. A woman was better off hiding it and trying to live with it. Today a woman is listened too and there is support. Women's justice has come a long way from 30 years ago.

Ok a good start, but needs polish a few mispronounced words like Willamette and if the cars can stop the truck could EMP can't do anything to air brakes. As for that a EMP that kills cars kills phones too, no looking at bars on phone, no flaslh lights working on phones! Phone in desk, if its steel might survive but and anything with a ic chip is dead if its not shielded. Old emergency lights in hospital will still work for a bit if batteries have been changed regularly. But if newer leds nope.

I really like the story, but I can't get over the tap tap tap thing. The other inconsistency's in the story. I can look past such as a retired military man carrying a dull knife. Or the way the reader of the story is mispronouncing places in Oregon. Or words like music "mu SAC". I'm going to keep giving it a chance, though maybe it will grow on me. This is a free book, so I should not complain... Except for the tap tap tap. That's awful, lol. Thanks for the entertainment.
