@@esthermariasaezmayoral4566 so it's the American league playoff game. I'm with my dad. The announcer says, "ladies and gentlemen we have a special guest, Mr. Cary grant." He's in the VIP box, black suit, and he's waving to the crowd. I tell my dad I'm going to find him, my dad says ok. Different time, 1980? So I go in search of cay grant. I ask a policeman how do I get to the VIP box and he tells me(different time!) I find it. No guards just locked glass doors. I wait. A door opens and out walks Cary grant, alone. Our eyes meet. He walks over and tries to open the glass doors, they're locked. He smiles, shrugs his shoulders and walks into the men's room. He comes back out and I'm still there. He comes over, he looks into my eyes, and slips his finger between the glass doors. I slip my finger between the glass doors and we touch. He smiles and winks. He walks back to his box, turns and waves goodbye. He was dead a short time later. But for that brief moment It was just Cary and me. Does that answer your question?
@esthermariasaezmayoral45662 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your very detailed answer. That a really amazing honor the unexpected meeting you had although It was so brief. I have loved your story thank you very much to share with me. He seemed to be very nice and charming like in his movies then.. Have a nice day.☺️🙃

Isn't it amazing how our relationships with these people long gone become so personal and emotional, like they are our dearest friends. I was so excited when I found your channel, because you seem to feel the same way I do about our dear friends form the Golden Age of Hollywood. You have such a talent for making these tributes! I watch your videos all the time :) Cary was my biggest teenage crush (if you can call it that, it felt more like a first love ha ha) I was having such a hard day yesterday and watching this tribute took be straight back to that magical time when I first fell in love with him. Thank you so much, what a wonderful gift you have given me.
@IreneXandra8 жыл бұрын
Oh my, you make me even more emotional now, with such a nice comment... Thank you. I certainly feel the same way about Old Hollywood and have an acute feeling of not belonging in the times we live in. Yes, I feel these (mostly dead) people very close to me, I feel protective over my favourite ones and ready to defend their honour in conversations with other people. And yes I fell in love with Cary as a teenager and never got over it, which poses a problem in real life, when your "ideal man" is Cary Grant and hardly anyone can compete with that :)
@slightlyimaginary58318 жыл бұрын
Ha ha I totally know what you mean!! When you have spent most of your life watching the charming and dreamy men of Old Hollywood, you sort of look around you at men nowadays , and think, "That's it? Am I really just supposed to choose one of them?" I totally hear you about not belonging in this time period. Sometimes it really hurts, because you watch these wonderful films and these wonderful people from the Golden Age, and something in you just knows you were meant to live back then. i am so defensive of my favorites too! Even people who aren't my favorite, I still just feel this loyalty to them, as if it's my job to protect everyone from back then :) I was so excited when I found your channel and saw that someone else appreciated Deborah Kerr the way I did, She is one of my all time favorites! And your tributes to her are just beautiful! The one you did for Tea and Sympathy made me cry, I love that movie! She is just perfect in it! Oh and the one you did for her and Robert Mitchum was fantastic! They had such great chemistry. I loved them together!
@IreneXandra8 жыл бұрын
Oh, don't even start me about Deborah, that's one I would defend with guns and swords if necessary :) Probably because she so deserved to be an Oscar winner for a few of her roles, which unfortunately didn't happen until the honorary Oscar. That's why it's nice to talk to a fellow old Hollywood fan: we understand one another and we share the same outlook on things. So, in my turn, thank you for your heart warming messages, they really made my day, as I resonated with everything you said. Hope we'll keep in touch.

Oh, to have been one of his leading ladies…on screen or in life! He was an absolute original, a great talent and a class act. And to think we almost never had him. Grant’s studio contract was about to expire-and not be renewed-when Mae West chose him as her leading man in 1933’s “She Done Him Wrong”. The rest, as we say, is history.
