Art historian Griselda Pollock - author of 'Charlotte Salomon and the Theatre of Memory' - explores the paintings and story of the German-Jewish artist whose monumental work 'Life? or Theatre?' is now recognised as a modernist masterpiece, 75 years after her death in Auschwitz.
Griselda Pollock is Professor of the Social & Critical Histories of Art I Director of Centre for Cultural Analysis, Theory and History. Her book 'Charlotte Salomon and the Theatre of Memory' is available from Yale University Press.
