Interesting how this program changed when it finally got to the Olympics

Very interesting piece on the judges' education. I would like to have seen more of that. The judges were always so anonymous. It was rare that their names were even mentioned let alone the viewers get a chance to know anything about them. Thanks.

well gk891, there is a very special and strong rule in ice-dance competitions. so many skaters have to change their choreography. Grishuk & Platov have done brillian.

Are you saying that lift was illegal and so they had to change it? Either way, I do agree that they did brilliantly that year with this free dance, including all the changes they made. The choreography is unreal in terms of content and how it kept building until the very end.

This version was interesting but over-the-top in terms of presentation and expression. The changes they had made were definite improvements. I did like that wild lift towards the end though. I wonder why they took that out as it was quite the highlight.

I agree. It's cool to see Lori Nichol presenting it. I do have to say that i liked this dance by the time the Olympics came around but WOW this was sloppy here.

How did they win with that huge fall???!

Falls are not that crucial in ice dancing
@MsRumex4 жыл бұрын
fall means a deduction and not mandatory second place. If the team did not miss any important part of the choreography and the program was really strong - they may end up getting 5.6-5.7 (after deduction) and still win with those marks
