Grizzly bear encounter, mother & cub at Great Bear Chalet - "It's OK Mamma."

Wonderful encounter with mother grizzly bear and her cub of the year. We were fortunate to spend the days of September in their company building trust as evidenced here.
We had been stationary, observing them fishing and eating wild Pacific pink salmon carcasses on the opposite bank while working their way upriver. Mom decided to make the swim over to our side (likely due to man heard yelling in beginning of clip) and as Guide, I knew it was our responsibility to her to stay exactly where she knew us to be and not move. Her sole concern was for her cub and to what extent his ferrying across the river would be effected by the current. She paced her swim based on his strengths and ensured the she made shore on our side, keeping herself between us and her cub. She trusted us, and we her. Beautiful.
My hope is that they survive this Winter together and that we are gifted with their presence on the river next year. What a wonderful world it can be.
