Grizzly G0513 Bandsaw Guide Bearing Upgrade and New Tires

We are installing a Guide bearing upgrade on my Grizzly G0513 Bandsaw. This bandsaw comes with euro style guide bushings, or ceramic bushings. The guide bearings are a very nice upgrade for these saws and I wish I would have done it sooner. I also replace the bandsaw tires and I show how to do that. Nice! I hate the guides on my saw. They are very similar to your old ones. I swapped my tires to the orange urethane tires. Best way I found is to leave my wheels on, zip tie the tire about half way around the use a heat gun to warm the tire up, stretch it on and zip tie and progress made before moving on. The nylon pry tools for car interiors is good to use for extra leverage

Great video J. They also suggest that you place a screwdriver under the new tire once it's on and move the screwdriver under the tire around the entire wheel. The new tires can stick and hold tension in certain areas after they've been heated up. Doing this ensures the whole tire is relaxed and can move evenly while it dries. Thanks for sharing. V

Thank you Jake. I've had my G0513 for about 15 years. It shipped with those Euro style guides. I'm well versed in how to adjust everything, but lately I've tried resawing and since I'm getting a lot of drift I end up with inconsistent thicknesses end to end and comparing multiple pieces. The blade is tensioned correctly. Could the culprit be the OEM guides? Lastly, are the guides you installed by Grizzly, Carter or other?

Mine didn’t come with the small bearing for the lower blade support. I see you had a new one, buy it? Or included? The kit part list did not indicate a new one was included. How cheap of Grizzly. Its a 6000z.
