Is This Really an Ancient Roman Camp or Something Else?

Camping in an ancient Roman camp where I try to get comfortable.
unfortunately my battery went flat while taking a timelapse and because I was in a rush to get out and test some gear, I forgot spare batteries!
I'll share my thoughts on my next camp.

I've got the Trekology UL140 and still do this day its the most comfortable sleeping pad I've owned. As a side sleeper, me bloody leg isn't hanging off the pad when i turn.

Blackout tent for good nights sleep and you can get cotton real pillows camping ones that fold up into a tiny drawstring bag !

Cracking video, so far , Gaz . I found the thicker , inflatable camping mats were and are more better for the heavier person to sleep on . My current mat is around 12cm deep and is ideal apart from my length as I am very tall . These me problems have been sorted as best as I can. I can't find a small tent long enough to lie in , so I just use single width mats under the tarp , which I prefer, as I am very nosey and like to see what's going on, LOL. Keep up the great work Mate and looking forward to seeing what you're results are on your experiments, lol . I know that your the perfect stunt man for these missions for our entertainment. LOL. you should try the kilos gear sleep pad it's good price, warm packs small and thick good for side sleepers. I'm a 21st lump and I can't feel the floor when I lay on it. don't have to have it pumped to bursting either.

I did the Lyke Wake Walk a few years ago and slept in a ditch with my legs in my rucksack. Only woke up when the support team found us 6 hours later. They had been looking for us for an hour.

i have the single version of this pad. I inflate it then let a bit of air out so it feels more like a water bed. I found a pillow by Decathlon does the trick. Like you I cant sleep on the first couple of nights camping. Love em or hate em I sleep like a log with this set up and a quilt. Love your vids dude. Keep it up. ATB

Damn.... Now we have to wait to find out about that epic looking double mat!😂 I have a thermacrisp neo x term etc.. as well. Should have taken the wide version. 50 cm is quite narrow...even for me (on the tiny lass spectrum). Though the mat does feel.very warm and comfortable for me. I do love seeing Fendi mucking about. I would love to get a dog one day to accompany me on camping trips. Now only my youngest son likes to go, but he hates walking lol😂

Decathlon quechua memory foam pillow is great,takes up some pack space BUT if you get the right sized compression sack it will get quite small.super comfy with a washable cover.

That Matress sounds ideal for two. Would be great to get something like that for my 2 man cheapo Tent, for when my Son starts joining me on my little Adventures. I’ve got the 25” Rapide and it’s lovely. Twinned with a zenbivvy liner and quilt. The down hood keeps the pillow (also from Zen) tucked inside. Creates quite the sleep system. The only problem I’ve had is the rapide is quite thin and had a puncture on the second camp. As always Gaz great content.

I almost feel guilty for living in California, residing in the San Francisco Bay Area which ii lovely but particularly in the rainy months when all the indigenous flora bursts forth! My brother and cousins inherited our family home in the high Sierra Nevada which sits above the North Fork of the Yuba River, you and Fendy would love exploring that area as long as you avoid falling down some mine shafts. You need a Headboard now Gaz :) I was pondering about the SL but i couldn't find one wide and long and ended up with the Expeds which i am loving. I bought one of the Big Agnes pillows too which is lighter than my Sea to Summit Aerios but its too low for me and doesn't support my head as much as the Aerios so i have gone back to that. I am a side sleeper but it might be good for back sleepers'. If you are a Back sleeper and want to give it a go you can have it for free. ATB
