I remember watching this in the pilots lounge at RAF Cosford when I was a 13 year old Air Cadet, getting on for 20 years ago now... Me and a mate had arrived later than the rest of our ATC squadron because our bus hadn't turned up, so we got a private screening of the safety briefing with the pilots and C.O. It had been pissing with rain all morning, so there was a good chance flying would be cancelled, but thankfully it cleared up by the afternoon. I still remember the Grob I went up in... G-BYVJ. After a few minutes the pilot let me take control for a bit, which was an amazing feeling. I think I flew it for maybe 10 minutes before we encountered severe turbulence and the pilot took control back. After we landed we were taken into a mobile hut where we watched the Mel Gibson film 'We Were Soldiers'. For years I held onto the little blue logbook they gave me... So proud of my "25 minutes" under hours logged. 🤣

Lovely background hiss. They made sure it was really loud

Reminds me of air experience flights with the ATC in Chipmunks in the early 1970's. In the drill for abandoning the aircraft by parachute we were told to remove the cloth headgear containing the ear pieces & oxygen mask to avoid getting the wireless cable snagged & causing strangulation or injuring our neck.

I take it the later version that starts with the fast jets isn't in the public domain?

Unfortunately not, nor is the earlier one as this isn't the one I watched 20 years ago.

Abandoning the aircraft..... need to remove the headset plugs before jumping. Didn’t hear that in the brief...

Not as good as the Grob Tutor training video that us Cadets had the cadet bail out looked more convincing complete with the jump , Parachute deployment and Landing on the ground was told the pig tail lead just pulls out easily

@@steamfandan9682 I remember the one that looked like it was filmed in the 70's, there was a chap with massive glasses showing the bailout procedure! !
