I just returned from an EAST COAST CRUISE on the Emerold Princess that traveled the same ports as you. Went to "Tracy's Rolling Yarn Shop" in Sydney NS and spoke with Tracy, the owner, and she said she had the best time with all the knitting ladies on your cruise!! She said everyone was a hoot and she made the most money ever that day.

Love Tracy's Rolling Yarn Shop! She was at a local artisan market in Cape Breton and I bought my first Sweet Skein O'mine yarn..last October I wore the cardigan I made when I went to the PEI Fibre Festival and got to meet the dyer! I hope you do come back this way, or do another East Coast cruise I've already told my husband to prepare for it and I also highly recommend the PEI Fibre Festival..its so much fun.

A great recap of your voyage. I’m a former east coaster, having lived in Pictou County (not too far from Ewe Knits), Halifax and Sydney, you mentioned the Halifax explosion near a yarn shop you went to. A couple of good fiction books based on that are Barometer Rising by Hugh MacLennan, awesome book, and a recent one When The World Fell Silent by Donna Jones Alford

Sounds like a wonderful trip. The East Coast is my favourite i visit often because my daughter married a young man who is a professor at St FX in Antigonish! Halifax is one of my favourite places to visit! I agree you need to spend more time there. And PEI don’t even get me started. I’ve been to Fleece and Harmony. Did you go to Anne of Green Gables? Tell Jeff there is a golf course so it’s a win win! Did you have lobster? If you need a road buddy let me know I love the east coast. I’ve driven out five times from Calgary to visit my daughter.

Hello from boston area. Did you know that Halifax NS donates the giant Christmas tree to Boston every year? They do this because Boston was there to assist with that great fire. Its a big deal here yearly.

Jodi and Tracie, thank you again for such a fabulous trip and also for your very generous gifts and celebration of my birthday. I will remember it forever. I think that the last time I had any semblance of a birthday celebration was in 2013 when I was deployed to Afghanistan. So wonderful to see all the yarny goodness from the cruise! I love Fleece and Harmony! To me they are one of my “local” yarn stores. Even though I live in southern Louisiana US. Love the Beatle Juice yarn! My other “local” yarn shop is The Knitting Place. Can’t wait for the Breast Cancer kit! I have loved the yarn and patterns the last two years. Oh, Tracie - I'm glad you got the Point Prim sock yarn. I have purchased that from Fleece and Harmony and it's glorious. They have lovely yarns and I like the fact that their in-house yarn is from local sheep. I've also purchased their blankets: luxury!!
