I think its time to upgrade Olivia's plates to an adult plate (like portions you and Joel eat, instead of a kiddie plate). That would definitely help keep her fuller longer, if you havent already done this. Love watching you and your family, thank you for sharing part of your lives with us! ❤️

My teenagers still eat off kid plates. If they want more food they come back. But healthy eating is not to over eat. Eat protein then veggie then carb. Drink water. If want more have protein then veggie then extra carb last.

Hey!! This was such a sweet video💕 I wanted to tenderly mention the harm that could come from hyperfization on food ingredients. I have fought Anorexia in and out of hospitals the last 11 years. I couldn’t help but need to mention the impact hyper focusing on ingredients, oils and sugars can be. Olivia reading every ingredient on everything she picks up can go downhill sooo quickly. Yes, teaching our kiddos what fuels your body properly is important. But please mama, loosen the reigns on the food fear. Don’t let your food worry become theirs. I’m so happy you got some ready-to-go meals for the kids despite it being a challenge for you. Maybe just incorporate a bit more food freedom language into day to day. Life is soooo hard right now and I just don’t want your kiddos using food as a way of their control caus it can get dangerous so quickly. I hope this came off respectable as I watch every video and my intentions are that of love and TRUE care/concern💕.

This! I am sure with all the issues within their family lately talks about food and being hungry is triggering to Bonnie. It seems to me that Bonnie's upbringing was a food restrictive/reward household..if you don't do this then you won't eat or if you do this then you get a food reward and in some of her earlier videos that was also her parenting style-I think she has changed her perspective on a lot of things and as all parents do grown with her kids and learned lessons along the way for the better. She has talked about food issues in past videos and her relationship with foods/weight and while I don't think she is trying to push that on her kids purposefully it definitely is showing. There is a fine line between educating kids on importance of health and restricting. You comment was such a nice supportive way of showing the ED perspective.

It's all about balance and moderation. If you are eating healthy in general, it's totally fine to have an unhealthier meal or snack once in a while. Banning those foods entirely would only lead to a bigger obsession with them later on. So I think you are doing great😊

Bonnie!, I understand how important it is to you that you feed your family and kids good clean food that’s wonderful but remember if they ever eat out or at a friends house that’s not as good as what they eat at home they can get sick pretty easily so make sure they are exposed to other types of foods. It will serve them better in their lives. You’re an unbelievable mom and you take care of your family. You should be commended for that. I’d love to watch your channel and watch you as well. Nice grocery haul!!! I make tortillas all the time, roll out 3 dozen about every two weeks, because we gooo through them and eat them all the time… and yeah it’s just flour salt warm water and olive oil…. We dont buy all the bad oils… I just roll them out place on stove on a very hot cast iron pan and cook on bolts sides for about 20 seconds each side or until I’ve bubbles, then I let them cool off and stick in freezer and when someone wants one you can just take one out and they dont stick so it’s easy to pull one out

As a German I would recommand not to use constantly all these plastic bags for each item when you are shopping....we bring our own bags to the Stores or bring reusable bins etc, empty bins can stay in your huge van for the transport - please try to avoid all these plastic bags....it would be a good thing for the environment and to save energy and to avoid plastic in our oceans etc - please think about it or mention it in one of your videos so that others in the US and elsewhere think about it too....thanks.

There are actually studies that show that the environmental impact of reusable bags is actually bigger than plastic. It takes so much more to manufacture these reusable bags. But I unfortunately come from Canada where we cannot get plastic grocery bags anymore. If you forget to bring your bags, you have to buy new ones. It’s really annoying.

Filling up those boys will become more intense in the next few years. If you haven't tried couscous and quinoa, you'll find both are affordable, mix well with all kinds of veg and chicken and fish, and filling. Rice and potatoes would also be great to have on hand. Golden potatoes are yummy and are medium to those little beauties. So easy to prepare.

Hi Bonnie, its so easy to make flour tortillas... typically it will have lard, but I would use butter instead... there are many recipes online, of course, but it should.. that hard part for me has always been making them round... look for recipes that consist of water, flour, some sort of fat element, ( never used olive oil ir avocado oil or butter) may ask for baking powder and that's it. Olivia happy belated birthday can't believe you are 15!!! big hugs from Miami

I have an ingredient mom (I’m a grown up now) and one of the thing she did to keep “clean” snacks on hand was meal prep. If Olivia is interested in cooking/ helping in the kitchen she could help cut fruits and vegetables to store in the fridge. She could even help prep healthy lunches to keep on hand and eat throughout the week. One of my chores in high school was grocery shopping. My mom would make a list of what she needed, then I would make a list of snacks, lunch food, and breakfast food. She would look it over to make sure we were in budget. Then she would drop me off at the store with her debit card and the list and go run other errands around town. I would call when I was heading to check out and she would come back to get me. Times were different so idk how safe that is today but Olivia could always place an order for groceries and you could go pick it up.

I was an ingredient mom, too! Now my daughter and her husband are ingredient parents, as well. When you are raising children it was for my husband and I out of necessity due to finances and a personal struggle I had with an eating disorder. We couldn’t afford all the boxed foods while we were saving to buy a home. Then, we looked at the labels of the ingredients in them (the ready made foods), and decided that it was worth it to continue to make food from scratch at home and once in awhile have those ready made meals, (as healthy as we could find them but once in awhile just buy the junk they wanted) in the house. I believe this is exactly what you are teaching your kids. It’s called teaching your kids to eat healthy but not to go too crazy with food restrictions. You are raising your kids to not fear foods. You are such a good mom! I saw a comment from a viewer about eating disorders and I have successfully recovered from one for over 38 years. You are doing EXACTLY a what my dietitian recommended for me and raising my kids as well! BRAVO, you haven’t even been to a dietitian, you did this on your own, naturally!
