I feel you, totally same… random Tedtalk here but I’m studying and it’s tough to balance work (I work often evenings) and study while actually advancing in studies, (I’m not, enough) and I’m not even working in my field. But my work hours are flexible and it’s a rather chill office job still with certain perks, so I’m good with that 🙏 I’d want to really get my degree. Oh and our goverment is cutting a lot of benefits (us students we get housing and student support) + raising taxes here in my country. I hope I can make it. Literally like almost 60% goes to living expenses and like, food. I’m trying to find a cheaper but nice place to live. There are some nice student houses. Anyway. We can do this! ;-) and dream about future. Good night my friend in the mid 20s!

My daughter is almost 19 with first job and realizing life is expensive that I wasn’t being mean saying no to buying her everything. When she turned 18 she got a job as soon as she graduated high school and now realizes how little money goes these days. I feel bad for this generation.. it’s looking like the American dream is dead

A few years ago I made a New Years resolution to "use it up and replace it thoughtfully". I've really narrowed down the amount of products, especially beauty products, that I buy now. Little trick...the shampoos I've bought that I don't particularly like...I use them to wash lingerie or other delicate items I don't want to put in the washing machine. Crazy, but it works!

I've really enjoyed doing this myself. I have a separate cosmetic bag that I keep "death row" products in. I commit to use them up or toss them- most of the time I toss them bc they end up breaking me out or I realize the consistency or smell is old. Lol if the products are still good but not my favorite then I just wear it to run errands, or workout. Lol I've definitely been replacing it with better products. I love the various brands that allow you to try before you buy! I started doing the same thing with clothes and lingerie. Great tip about shampoo. I use it as body wash and the conditioner works great as a shave cream.

I have also been on this kick of using up everything we have, I have been hoarding shampoos and bath products for years and now I am using them up and not buying new until we use it all up. We only buy new things if we get them for free at Lidl (not sure how it is in the US but in Europe we have an app for Lidl and sometimes you get free stuff in the app after your purchases). I am just tired of having so much stuff in the bathroom for one, secondly, I am actually trying to transition into using less packaging (thus resorting to using more soap and bar based things), but first I wanna use what I have.

Also! A lot of women’s shelters will take gently used products- so if you ever purchase a product and you aren’t thrilled with it, a lot of them will happily take it ❤ so then you don’t feel guilty for not liking a product you used, and someone else can enjoy it! :)

About the dry shampoo, one thing I’ve learned to do so it won’t get crusty is to actually apply it, and leave it seating in the hair for a while before brushing it! Like a good 5 min. Hope it helps! ❤❤❤

It's crazy how quick time passes and how things change. I remember finding your channel so many years ago now when I had just discovered that ASMR was something that described the tingles I had experienced nearly all my life. I must have only been about 19 years old at the time, at university, experiencing independence for the first time. Now I'm 33 and I feel like those years were a lifetime away. I remember watching your nail care ASMR videos over and over again for tingles and this was back when you never showed your face in videos and recorded them on your phone, I think? And to come across this video and seeing how grown up your daughter looks now, I can't believe how things have changed. The Dirty Hippy scent is my all-time favorite soap! :) If you don't have a soap bar bag yet they are a lifesaver. I hated using bar soap until I had one of these. No more dropping soap, you can use the whole bar and it exfoliates.

Maria, I love watching both your channels. I so appreciate your natural style and frugal DIY nature and understand working on a limited budget. That said, I would suggest going to get your hair professionally colored. You yourself said you have a cool toned skin complexion. You’d look fabulous and elevate to another level with for example a baliage and cool toned hair color. You are so beautiful with a porcelain complexion that I feel would look totally amazing. yes, pricey, but the right color will last you a long time with minimal upkeep. I also have very fine thin hair. I used to do my own hair color that always turned yellow, that clashed with my cool toned fair skin. I didn’t color my hair first a couple years to let it have a rest. my natural color is kind of ash brown. I finally switched over to baliage with a trusted colorist and I only need to go twice a year. For example I’ll do a full head once, then fill in with some face framing highlights that last till the next full color. Your area is def pricey but I’m sure there are so many talented colorists out there willing to work within your budget. I hope you take this with the good will I intended and not as a criticism. You are lovely inside and out and I appreciate your willingness to share your life with your viewers.

When you showed the burn spots on your hand and arm, I was like “aw dang.” 😂 Listening to you chat about eating food no one else will eat, buying only essentials / using stuff you already have - those topics are so relatable! I’ve been doing both a bunch recently: finishing up food instead of buying more, using products I got to try and committing to finishing them.
