I split a 1/2 side of beef with a friend. I get it from another friend that raises cattle, they don’t use hormones so it’s safer than store bought meat, and way more economical. With as large as your parent’s family, you could easily split the cost. And the other advantage of buying meat this way, is you get to choose how you want your meat cut and processed.

Maybe it's just me but individually wrapped cheese slices tastes like plastic to me. I know I'm bout to sound like a snob...guess I'm a cheese snob. I buy the deli cheese. Love the taste. The prices there are fairly similar to here, here being Louisiana. If you invest in a vacuum sealer and the bags you can buy meat in bulk and separate it into individual pkgs. With those vacuum seal pkgs it will keep a bit longer. I'm older, in my 60s and live with my best friend/roommate. I have a deep freeze, 5 cubic ft and try to keep it stocked. Do have to clean it out occasionally, toss what might be freezer burnt.....mostly stuff I didn't separate and vacuum seal. It pays to have a freezer. If I don't take a lust I will forget stuff

Here in Connecticut we use our own bags. If you use the store paper bags you have to pay .10 cents each bag.

In Canada plastic bags have been banned for years now. We always have to remember to bring our reusable bags. ❤ from Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦

In Australia we don't have plastic bags at the supermarket and you need to use reuseable bags. You have to remember to take the bags with you when you go shopping. I have a mountain of bags in my trunk.

It's likewise in Europe. Though the possibility exists to buy/pay for reusable /paper bags. At farmer markets you can bring your own containers for fruit or vegetables and eggs etc.

If you shop for a few weeks or a month at a time, try going to Sam’s or Costco with your parents because they’re ground beef and bread are always cheaper than the grocery store when their cereals on sale. It’s a better deal because you get two bags and they’re just staple items that I love getting at Sam’s or Costco.

As I live in Europe, it's not always easy or fair to compare prices and regulations. But from the comments and advices I understand, that you do better to buy your meat at a deli, farmer's market or butcher's. Which is done in Europe. To freeze your monthly stock of meat without burn, you can use special bags or containers. If you prefer to buy promotions but have too much, consider to share costs with a friend like Jared or your siblings? Happy Holidays and take care!

Great value has the same amount of oz on orange juice which is cheaper. Also if your looking to save walmart has coupons on there website where you can get cash back. You will see it on certain items.

Rascals I love that brand its amazing. Instead of ground beef we do ground turkey theres a brand called festive that makes ground turkey its sold at walmart for 2 dollars a pound. So I get 2 pounds a week and then another meat we do is chicken thighs and we usually spend 15 dollars on it. You get a lot and it lasts us 3 meals when it comes to dinner so I roughly spend 85 dollars on meat for a month for our family of 4.

Eggs here in Wichita Kansas are almost $20. we buy 60 at a time. For meat invest in a foodsaver, it will save you money in the long term, and your food won't get freezer burn. We freeze soups, stews, and meats just about everything in foodsaver bags it's definitely worthwhile.

I have a deep freezer and for my ground beef I go to a local deli/butcher and buy 5 lbs of ground chuck for $3.99 a lb. It is so much better than just regular ground hamburger. And with it just being my husband and me, a 5 lb pack last about 4 weeks. We try to only have red meat once a week, once in awhile twice. But I really try to keep it down. It's also a much cheaper price than in a regular grocery store and much better meat.

My fiance and I got from Walmart yesterday was egg white in a half gallon and gulen free you can pour much as you want to make scramble eggs. I feel like Walmart prices are about the same in each state besides the taxes. You should to make its 1 pound of ground beef and long wild rice it's really easy and good.

Hey melinda my aunt shop for meat and other stuff for three people in a house and I don't keep track when she goes out she buys meat that doesn't have to much fat becuse my aunt is in a health kick and so am I and I can't eat spicy food becuse it's give me stomach issues so I just eat regular meat that is good for my stomach and also I don't fish becuse what happened in my childhood so ya also I have to watch kind of chips and candy and chocolate too becuse of what happened to my teeth just recently and I am strong medication for my mingrains and stomach issues and asthma so I have to watch I can eat with out get sick i have to use Pepto bismol for heartburn and I will have a somewhat a kind of sad becuse my biological mother loved Christmas and every year I get very emotional and I know I won't be able to see her becuse it's winter now and she is Is buried in ontario graveyard so I know Christmas will be okay becuse I will be seeing my family in thunder bay Ontario for Christmas and also I get to have new year's day too but it's going to be heading back home new year's day from thunder bay Ontario and I know I will be over tired becuse we will be Celebrating lake christmas and new year's day so I will be very tired and I will probably sleep in the car back or I will be awake and where my sister lives is in thunder bay Ontario and also not far from Lake superior and where they live cold by lake Superior and I get to see sleeping Giant if it's not foggy but otherwise I know most of the store's are and if I need stuff I will have my brother in law to drive me there or my sister it depends if they are not to busy and I hope u guys have grate good Christmas to u and your family.
