GROCERY SHOPPING & ERRANDS IN POSITANO BY SCOOTER With 500 Steps! EP 230

Our nearest Supermarket is in Piano di Sorrento, half an hour's drive if the traffic is light. We don't always want to go there so this is how we get things done without leaving Positano.
The shops we visited are:
The butcher: Macelleria Scirocco, piazza dei Mulini,
The pharmacy: Farmacia Rizzo
The ceramics store: Ceramica Assunta
The hardware store: Ferramento Casola
The grocery store: Non Solo Frutta
The fishmongers: Ittica Positano di De Lucia
RECIPE
Risotto with asparagus and shrimp
Cook about 5-6 asparagus per person in a pan for 10 minutes. Drain, chop and set aside.
Fry half an onion, then when it is golden add most of thethe chopped asparagus and mash it all together. Save some asparagus for garnish. Add the carnaroli rice (100g per person), and a glass of white wine and stir. Add stock bit by bit and stir frequently. Add the shrimp about 5 minutes from the end (see rice cooking guide and do the maths) until the rice is cooked.
Add the saved asparagus on top of each plate and serve

I have to say...this vlog is by far my MOST favorite .👍 The normal activity such as grocery + shopping, but ESPECIALLY the BEAUTIFUL NATURE and roads, traveled by Carlo and Frederico. 👍👍 If it was POSSIBLE 😄 to "enter the screen and join them", I would have done it in a HEARBEAT.. My husband came into my studio as I was watching this video and saw some of the footage that Carlo took. Amazing how much you fit on to the scooter and it all stayed put driving through the winding roads! I love seeing the videos when you're shopping. It reminds me when I lived on an island and stopping at each little shop like the bakery, the butcher, the fruit market. I live in a city now where we just go to big box stores for everything but I miss the days of going to little shops and getting everything fresh, talking to the shop keepers every week and hearing their stories.

My goodness, Nicki and Carlo, I know you often speak of the difficulty of having such a distance (in stairs) from where you must park your vehicles to your home, but seeing you walk it as you're laden with parcels & purchases really drives home the point! I'm picturing what it must be like for you on days when you absolutely must stop in at the grocer, even though the weather isn't cooperating, and you get caught in a sudden downpour on your way down the stairs! Or, when it's boiling hot outside! You all are way tougher than I am--I salute you! Hello from Northern California. I sympathize with carry all your groceries down hill and whatever you have to carry up hill. When I lived in San Francisco, I lived up a steep hill and did not have a car and the house I lived in had a sh*tload of steps in and outside…which at the time seemed like a Billion steps🤦🏾‍♀️🥵🥵😮‍💨 But I will say I had the Buns of Steel!! Still do😉, because I moved to the other side of the bay on a smaller hill and 6 steps. So nostalgic feelings watching your video including the shrimp risotto, my partner makes and tells me all about how he misses Trento, while enjoying dinner.
