The rice is small as those where more specialised types of rice and you would only need bit. Chutney is sort of just jam. Marmite is eaten on toast with butter. Marmalade is a jam made of citrus fruits. Rapeseed is from a yellow flower, it is also known as canola. British people do like their pies. The corned beef is used for sandwiches and the use of the preserved lemon is one of the greatest mysteries of the world.

@@the5worldexplorers chuntney is more of a type of pickle as the veg and fruit is cooked with vinegar and is eaten mainly with cold meats and cheese

@@the5worldexplorerswith the Marmite, less is better as it’s very salty so a very thin layer on toast, Marmite is made from spent brewers yeast similar to Vegemite but there is a distinct difference between the two.

We do have trollies (carts) that are more trolley than leg 😊. The one you have is for if you want more than a basket full but not a big weekly shop? Chutney is basically savoury jam (jelly). You have it with cheese and crackers or with poppadoms before a curry (the word Chutney comes from India). Your right, marmalade is really only made from oranges (sometimes lemon). Mince pies used to have meat in them (in Tudor times) the fruit was added to bulk them out. Over the years they just started leaving out the meat. The ready meals, small milk cartons and small bags of rice etc. are a sign of the times. Busy single people or childless couples picking up stuff from the store on the way home from work.

Oh wow thank you so much for all the explanations we love to learn more about food and traditions through these videos 🙌

To qualify as marmalade it must have at least one citrus fruit included. So obviously orange is the most common but you can get lemon and also lime that are not as common.

Cosimo was getting it right 😁, we need to try lemon or lime then since we had orange

Canola oil is a genetically modified version of rapeseed oil. Marmalade is a jam that contains a citrus fruit. My favourite is lime marmalade.

Once at a farmer's market I bought an emu's egg. I had no idea what to do with it.

What??? Really? Did it taste like chicken eggs??? How big was the yolk??? You just blew my mind!!!
@charlestaylor942429 минут бұрын
@the5worldexplorers It was the equivalent of 12 hens eggs - I made a lot of pancakes and some scrambled eggs. It was a darker yellow than hen or duck eggs. Tasted much the same.

It is England 🏴, Northern Ireland, Scotland 🏴 and Wales 🏴. It is a supermarket. Marmite is superior to the aussie crap. Apple pie was invented in Britain 🇬🇧.
