Was there today, the actors were rehearsing, bright sunny blue sky, could smell the thatched roof and the wood its made from, it's a very real experience in our sanitised/strip lighted/air conditioned age and you just get lost in it, definitely worth a visit even if you don't like Shakespeare, just for the experience.

Lovely doc...only wish it had concentrated on two of the finest performances seen/heard in The Wooden 'O' -- Roger Allam's Falstaff and Jamie Parker's Prince Hal (Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2, 2010). If you want to understand why Shakespeare is such a big noise, these are the two actors who make him understandable, resonant, human and true. The best of the best. They can and will transform how you think of the Bard.

Staunton, VA, was first to build a Black Friars Playhouse replica.The American Shakespeare Center there has done a great job working in tandem with the Globe. If you can’t get to England, Staunton is a great place to go.

Plus school is also supposed to teach you some culture. Anyways, I've been twice at the globe and it was a blast both times, once in summer and once in winter !
