God it's so weird hearing Sam do Scanlan after hearing Nott for so long. I know a lot of the players are playing characters that are very different to their first campaign characters now but their size is literally the only thing Nott and Scanlan have in common.

3:00 Why’d Matt make it a Charisma check vs. a Wisdom check/saving throw since those are the ones related to willpower?
@bskec21774 жыл бұрын
Grog was trying persuade/deceive Craven Edge as to why he wanted Scanlan to hear him. Those are Charisma checks. At least, that's my interpretation of things.
@austinboylan54763 жыл бұрын
@@bskec2177 Not to to disagree (I appreciate the reply), but then why have Scanlan make one when he tried to give up the sword?
@mr.bluesky41303 жыл бұрын
@@austinboylan5476 I believe it’s because CHA is the skill related to possession, and historically I think was the skill related to intelligent magic items.
@CryoXerxes2 жыл бұрын
So I know this is old, but what it boils down to in alot of fantasy games, Intelligence is the strength of the mind, Wisdom is the Defense of the mind, Charisma is the willpower of the Soul.

"As leading sword expert Ewart Oakeshott unequivocally stated: "Medieval Swords are neither unwieldably heavy nor all alike - the average weight of any one of normal size is between 2.5 lb. and 3.5 lbs. Even the big hand-and-a-half 'war' swords rarely weigh more than 4.5 lbs."
@SkuubaSteve7 жыл бұрын
And a greatsword? Built for a 7 foot tall barbarian? While it certainly wouldn't, "Weigh as much" as Scanlon, it would be very unwieldy for a 3 foot gnome to wield a 5.5 to 6 foot sword

It's a high fantasy game.

What about a blade that has drunk several million gallons of blood? Does Oakeshott have anything to say about that type of sword? How heavy is a sword that has consumed a human soul?

Strange, it's almost like this sword Craven Edge might be magic.
@SuperSanity16 жыл бұрын
A "hand and a half sword" (also known as a bastard sword) were typically just a bit bigger than arming swords, and smaller than long swords. So I question how much of an expert he is if that's his example of a "big sword."
