At the 2024 TT the island was infested with the little buggers. They look like huge fun. But i wouldn't fancy the schlep up the motorway shoulder to shoulder with huge scania trucks on one. X

Big trucks and their wake really push you around. Beware big trucks. I always lean into them

The Rebel 300 is a more comfortable ride when it comes to commuting. I'm wanting to get a Honda Dax 125 when they finally start getting them in dealerships. ( not for commuting, just for fun)

The Dax looks really fun, but I'd expect the suspension to behave similar to the Grom/Monkey, very stiff. But it's a good looking retro

I'm in Europe and I use my dax for commuting. I've installed a square 24L box and is good for those things you forgot when shopping, you basically shove the bike anywhere. Here these bikes can go on highway. 100km/h (62mph), it can ride all day. I've topped out at 118km/h (73mph) is when injection cuts off. You can highway it for 10km but you won't have any fun and will wish to go back to the normal twisties

@@theANGRYtangoI don't find the damping very stiff. I find it comfortable

@@SandStormPower I just like it better than the Monkey, plus the tank holds more fuel. I guess the Dax is one of those bikes you either love it or hate it. I just really like smaller displacement bikes but here in the US everyone wants the bigger bikes with the exception of the Grom. I wouldn't want anything over 250cc. If I could afford it, I'd get a Janus too. But they're almost $10k!! Nice retro look though - you should look them up online
@SandStormPower23 күн бұрын
@@vanmandad actually the monkey holds more fuel than the dax. Official statement for dax is 3,8L Usually I ride 200km (125 miles) and fill it up. Barely put 3,1L in it. I suppose real mileage might be around 150 to 160 miles, maybe a bit more with a full tank You're right about the love or hate. I completely love this bike!

Americans are to addicted to cars any slow vehicle would be better than a modern car their too fast
@theANGRYtango29 күн бұрын
We're not addicted, we're dependent. The US is so big and everything is spaced out so far that you need a car. Also Germany, Japan, UK, etc, all make really fast cars, so I'm not sure what your point is

@@theANGRYtango the U.S. is addicted to cars befor the car everybody walked in the middle of the streets kids played in the middle of the streets venders set up shop in the middle of the streets now people are to lazy or scared to walk to the end of their street

Well here you are, so 🤷♂️. America is massive, bigger than you can imagine, not owning a car is a massive impracticality here. Most of the US is rural, like where I live, and takes minimum 15 minutes to get anywhere. In some places it's more extreme, some people live an hour or two away from a major grocery store. Europe was built when everyone was walking or taking a carriage around, streets are smaller, things are closer. The US expanded westward in the 1800s, and in the later years the team was invented and installed in major cities, shortly after the first automobiles became available for commercial use (1885-1915). Most cities and rural areas were built post the automobiles introduction. Again it's not an addiction thing, it's a necessity thing.
