I watch a few different grooming channels, and most of them show more severe cases. No, it's not the only thing they do, but it's the ones that get more views. I appreciate the hell out of all you do to help these poor dogs to help them feel better.

Of course. On KZbin, we are all hunting for views and it's totally OK to give people that what they want to watch. And exectly the neglected dogs are interesting to see in these transformation videos. 🙂 we are doing the same thing, even if we are grooming salon for all kinds of dogs. On our chanel you can see that we have tried to make videos with "normal" and "no-neglected" dogs, but people just don't want to watch that... or we just don't know how to make interesting video with those kinds of dogs. 🙂

I’m a dog groomer myself in the UK and I can definitely say we see dogs like this constantly and this sort of work is much harder than dogs that are groomed on a regular basis! I too am a dog groomer in the UK. I don't see many dogs that come to me in this state. I think we have a smaller problem here. I do think that the problem has got worse since the poodle cross, designed breeds became popular. It doesn't take long for them to get felted or matter coats. I don't think a lot of owners realise the high maintenance of them.

I've never heard of "fake grooming", but there ARE channels who put animals lives at risk, purposefully hurt the animal or even kill them in order to make fake "rescue" videos. There's plenty of evidence out there.

I watch other groomers in your country and follow several dog rescue shelters there and elsewhere and am always sad to see how many dogs are abandoned and neglected. I’m from the UK, I watch other groomers on utube because I love dogs. I lost my beautiful German Shepherd last December and still grieving, by watching your channel takes my mind from the grieving for a short while. I still keep her leash in my bag when I go shopping. I love the fact that you called out the hater and your comments were totally appropriate. There will always be haters, unfortunately. You handled it perfectly. This is such a cute dog! He was definitely overgrown however, he looks very healthy and I didn’t see much matting just a lot of overgrown hair. I guess that’s better than people never coming back. Which I’m sure you have had happen a lot. It’s not the best case scenario, but if all that’s wrong with him is too much hair and dirty, it’s a win compared to others. You do an amazing job!! No way honey...in NO way are you too harsh. I learned some grooming on cocker spaniels years ago, very hard work, very time consuming, very difficult. I wish I could have learned to do it as well as you do. Very impressive. I watch you and I am amazed by how much hard work, time, and care you put into EVERY dog. You guys have a kind heart. It was so sweet to see you guys purchase gifts for that one dog and offer a couple of free follow up grooming. It’s such a good alternative to giving clients money. If anything I was worried with the cash option that clients would be incentivized since they already clearly don’t care. Offering services and food in a way forces them to correct their neglectful behavior. I will be 73 in a few days and will say this...I used to be a professional groomer years ago and nothing has changed as far as the condition of some dogs that you have to groom. I have heard every lame excuse for why the dog/cat was in the terrible condition it was in, and some of the people who brought these pets in were very well to do folks. It is worldwide problem; some owners take good care of their pets, and some don't. Thank you for sharing.

I just saw your channel and the title caught my eyes. I love grooming videos and animal rescues. BUT! There ARE channels that uses those poor animals for fake videos. I seen some myself and was pissed off. I reported them to KZbin for animal cruelty. If someone is an experienced viewer (and not a mean grouch) can tell right away if a video in that subject is real or faked. Same with restoration videos. Lots of mixing and editing, fake weathering, "Look what I just found in the mud." videos. So, some people are just jerks and a bully, and some have been bamboozled by other fake videos in the past and got bitter about it. Loved the way you worked on this dog! This is the first video I saw from you, but I can tell you are the real deal.🐩

I’m in Australia. Our groomer’s main business is grooming the animals that are neglected and have been rescued. She only does a few other dogs. The fact that here - where we have laws protecting animals and the RSPCA - she can still need to do that. What about areas where there are no laws or SPCA?

Thousands of dogs are abandoned everywhere, including here in the USA. I am grateful for those who rescue and care for these animals. As for grooming, in all the years I have had my own family of dogs, as much as I take them to the groomers, they still can get matted hair. Do not judge. Again, grateful for your care.

Most people have no idea how much work a non-shedding dog breed is. Almost all of my friends with poodles, doodles, bichons have their dogs in a similar condition regularly, and these are by no means neglected dogs. These are normal family dogs which are not well educated for grooming and there the problem starts: the owners are not able to groom them properly, the matting starts, dirt sticks in the fur, the dog looks terribly neglected after 3 months. Not everyone who buys these breeds is prepared for spending 100 Euro and more every 2 months for a professional grooming. We adopted a dog from Eastern Europe who looks a lot like this one. We know that there are a lot of abandoned and neglected dogs out there. Keep doing the good work!

As a cat groomer, when I started up my private business that is specifically designed for cats. There was no specialized cat grooming service in my area. I had a lot of pelleted matted cats that when you clipped them down it was like clipping down a shell on a turtle. I saw at least 4 or more a week in the beginning but once the word got out and the owners stayed on a grooming schedule. I don’t normally see as many neglected matted cases as I once did years ago only a few in the spring but nothing the rest of the year. So that comment about it being fake is absurd!
