I haven’t seen too many nice dachshunds before. They are often very nippy and have an annoying bark. But I think they are really cute. A 1/2 dog high and a 1 1/2 dog long. He looks great and super sweet. Great to see you and Sonja again. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸You do the most thorough job at trimming their paw pads than any groomer I’ve watched. You’re such an amazing groomer.Sonja… you need to tell Damjan that as soon as you’re married that you can say to him What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine 😂

They have a propensity for back and knee issues because of their height to length ration. They would be much bigger dogs if they didn't have dwarfism. They are nippy and barky because they were invented by mixing terriers and hounds. Hounds bark and terriers nip. And lot of groomers *intentionally * don't dog into dog pads for well maintained dogs. Trimmimg surface hair usually suffices

I’ve had 3 dachshunds in my lifetime. The first one was the friendliest dog in the neighborhood. Children would knock on my door and ask if he could come out and play. Sadly, he was stolen at the age of 10. I can only hope he was loved by the people who took him. The second was equally sweet and lived until he was 14. Now I have a rescue dachshund who was mistreated and dislikes children and men. He is very attached to me though and I keep him away from others. Interestingly, he dislikes all other dogs except dachshunds. He’s very calm around other dachshunds.

I am 66 and have had dachshunds for 60 years! 7 altogether. They are NOT nippy nor do they have an annoying bark. They are sweet and highly intelligent and have a deep, loud bark that sounds like they should be huge! They are very dignified and they have a sense of personal space and of their bodies being their property, though. So if you approach them them and attempt to grab them or wool them around without their permission, they won’t be happy. They’ll start by politely turning their heads and stepping away but if you persist, they will let you know that you should stop 🛑! They seem to understand that they could be easily harmed and watch out for their own safety. They don’t nip, just warn, and that usually stops everything. Their MO is usually to just make an exit, head held high so you’ll be sure to understand that YOU were wrong. 😂
