Such a beautiful kitty! Just a tip. When I worked as a vet tech, we would use the door of a cage that had been removed and put it at an angle in the tub. That way the cat has something other than the human to latch on to. It really helped to keep them calm!

My friend has a Maine Coon who will hiss and growl and smack and go to bite…and if she gets you she’s not using her claws and only just barely touches you with her teeth. Then she’ll start loving up on you while still hissing and growling.

Absolutely adore this breed…. but people need to know that 30% of this breed carries a genetic mutation for heart disease as I found out last week on the 18th when I lost my baby suddenly and without any warning. Omgosh I had to giggle there for a moment when he was in the floofurnater. He looked just like a salty over lord. Lmao. Mainecoons are the best boys. When my daughter was little our neighbor had a giant orange Maine named Charlie. He had to weigh 20lbs easy. My daughter used to tote him around in a basket. It was a rough journey. He weathered it with grace. Always gentle and affectionate. ❤

Large, long-haired cats often look surprisingly small after a bath, but this big fellow kept most of his size even after he got wet, which is unusual. He has an especially lovely coat and it will probably feel extremely soft and like silk after that bath. Only one meow of complaint while bathing is quite extraordinary to hear in a groom, though he was a bit more vocal about being trapped in the drying cage at the beginning. He ended up looking not much different than he came in, but there was certainly a lot of dirt underneath that mountain of fur.
