Thank you I appreciate you not pre-grooming the dog before this tutorial. So often do I see tutorials where the groom barely is takingoff any hair. It's like how can I know what to cut if their is no hair being removed. Beautiful dog by the way^^

Cute pup. I wish my maltipoo would stay that still when I just comb her on my grooming table.

My boy will give you 5 seconds to do something then he’s like “ok that’s enough” He will be still for a short time but then he’s gotta look around or whatever. I see that the groomer keeps is moving so that probably keeps the dog from getting too impatient

Removing yellow stains from my Maltese. It works wonders. Get Frozen dried chicken liver treats at PetSmart or Petco and give them to your dog once a day and you should see Improvement in two weeks. I give Sophia a few treats of the Frozen dried chicken liver everyday. I have bought everything in the book and nothing worked but this worked great. Have a good day.

Cleaning twice daily with contact lens solution works too. It's important to dry the hair well afterward as well as after they drink water. I gently rub up/down with a tissue or thin napkin wrapped around my finger then dry the beard hair by folding the tissue over the hair and 'scrubbing' back and forth using my thumb and index & middle fingers. This combined with good quality food/treats with no artificial dyes and distilled or at least filtered water from stainless steel or ceramic bowls works. Of course avoid getting the solution in the eyes. I use a cotton pad and fully saturate it. Fold it to scrub the corners of the eyes and wrap the beard hair in it and scrub back and forth. For bad beard stains you can hold a cloth under the hair and squirt the solution to saturate it, then scrub and dry. Contact lens solution was recommended on a veterinarian's website. He said it is a boric acid solution which is antibacterial. You can also make your own with boric acid and distilled water, but the solution is cheap enough and lasts a while. I usually buy generic. Tear combs (essentially a flea comb) are also good for the morning eye boogies that contribute to stains as well as sterile eye wash to irrigate debris like fine hairs that get in their eyes and cause them to tear.

now I"m wondering if my dog is Maltese, I was told he was a poodle mix! Nice dog, mine wouldn't be sitting long like this!

I was wondering if you could do a grooming video where you groom/shape/trim a Shih tzu or Maltese head & face with just clippers, no scissors. I have a Shih Tzu that I sometimes groom myself but I always hesitate when doing his face because he likes to nip at my hands suddenly when I do his face, I'm afraid of him getting poked in the eye by the scissors. See if I were to do his face/head like the way you're doing with this dog in the video, mine would go ballistic.

Hello! I love all your videos, they are very helpful! :). I was wondering where you purchased the rainbow shears from?

what did you use on the body?
@doggroomer80367 жыл бұрын
Hi Love of Grooming, thank you for the video! Could you please tell me what type of thinning shears you use when you groom dogs. It's time for me to buy thinning shears but there are so many types of them exist with different number of teeth and different shape of teeth that I am just lost. I have no idea what to buy and what type of thinning shears suit for example for silky, thin coat or for very thick coat or for curly coat....Could you please give me some advice. I would appreciate this very much! Thank you!
@LoveofGrooming7 жыл бұрын
Hi, there is a lot to learn about thinners that I can not type as it would take me a while but basically the closer the teeth the less coat the thinners take off, for faces I use a thinner with a lot of teeth for blending. For mats removal or to take off more coat I use thinners with less teeth or I use chunkers that have very wide teeth. I may make a video in the future.

Whoever is the owner probably never brushed the poor dog’s teeth. That’s their most vulnerable area and go bad quick

Why cut off all their hair?
@LoveofGrooming7 жыл бұрын
For easy maintenance. Long hair is hard to keep up with, you can see how matted the ears were, his body was like that also.. Most Maltese Pet owners keep their dog short if they are not show dogs. Most show dogs that are finished showing get a short hair cut when they retire from the ring.
@kybabie7 жыл бұрын
I see, but I would just die if someone cut my maltese's hair off like that I comb and brush her once everyday to keep her free of matts and keep her in a korean style cut!
@LoveofGrooming7 жыл бұрын
That's good news that you brush you Maltese often, most people cant keep up. I don't just cut off their hair on purpose, it owner request or if its matted. I love the Korean styles, most of them I see in that style have very short hair on their body and long hair on legs, tail, ears and have a short round face. Does yours have short hair on the body? I wish I could see a picture.

Yes, I wish I could show you..lol It's exactly how you described it....I love it too! Thanks! oh and Happy Valentine's Day!

kybabie ...my groomer friends showed me how to groom my dog at home, and theyre checking on my work once in a while haha. I tried many different styles, but not the korean one. Looks interesting, might try it ! Hes a black yorkiepoo with wavy fluffy hair, wont look as cute as it does on a maltese, but worth giving a try. What do you guys think?

Some dogs just pant all the time. He may be stressed from being groomed. It's not hot. One of my own dogs pants all the time.

Music on instructional videos is not helpful. Please redo with voice instructions, Think of music you do not like or care for - no matter what type it is, that is how many listeners will hear music especially on instructional videos.
