Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

Am i the only one amazed by how calm and still the dog is when she has the thinners near her eyes?? lol
@lindanevin124910 жыл бұрын
I still would not use clippers with out a guard on. Animals can be unpredictable or spooked. My dog is very patient as well as long as I dont go to cute his toe nails. The vet tech ruined it for my dog by not listening to me about a little gas to make him sleepy. The tech didnt use the gas and tech came out laughing at all the scratch marks on both her arms. I was livid and didnt go back. It takes me a couple days to cut all his nails. He is getting a little better, but I talk to him the whole time, praising him and then reward him when done. Hard breaking those mean memories with cutting the quick/.

Haha yeah this dog was super calm. I had a lhasa/shih-tzu mix for 17 years, and he was a nightmare to groom. The local groomers all refused to cut him, he was too aggressive. I had to painfully cut him myself. Wasnt too bad when he was younger, but as he got older he become more agitated and irritated.

Beautiful grooming job! And what a sweetie Honey is! She reminds me so much of my Lhasa who *hated* haircuts and would hide under the table until her hair grew out. My Lhasa would have loved this "teddie" cut. Her fearlessness was in direct relation to her length of hair, lol. Good girl, Honey! And sooo cute!

What a sweet little girl and masterful grooming. Those shears move with such confidence. I just adopted a rescue with severe anxiety. One vet wanted to put him on Prozac. I consulted another vet who gave non-drug guidance. Despite having two baths, his coat is matted and knotted -- he has a very thick coat. I watched this to see how grooming procedures go. Hope I can find someone as caring and capable as Ms. Beddoe.

Absolutely amazing thank you so much for sharing. this is how my Lhasa should look but he was butchered in the grooming parlour the last time i was devastated. his little legs were taken back so much i could see pink skin. i sobbed for a week afterwards. he is growing back slowly now but she took 6" off his tail that i told her he has never had his tail touched and that she must leave it alone. she just did as she wanted and was not around when i went ot collect him that told me all i needed.

This is a very informative video. I've watched many for my lhasa and this one is the only one that explained that lhasas should not have a head groomed like a shih-tzu but more like a Tibetan Terrier. I know those two breeds are more closely related than with shih-tzu. It doesn't seem to me groomers I have used for my dog know this.
