Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

Am i the only one amazed by how calm and still the dog is when she has the thinners near her eyes?? lol
@lindanevin12499 жыл бұрын
I still would not use clippers with out a guard on. Animals can be unpredictable or spooked. My dog is very patient as well as long as I dont go to cute his toe nails. The vet tech ruined it for my dog by not listening to me about a little gas to make him sleepy. The tech didnt use the gas and tech came out laughing at all the scratch marks on both her arms. I was livid and didnt go back. It takes me a couple days to cut all his nails. He is getting a little better, but I talk to him the whole time, praising him and then reward him when done. Hard breaking those mean memories with cutting the quick/.

Haha yeah this dog was super calm. I had a lhasa/shih-tzu mix for 17 years, and he was a nightmare to groom. The local groomers all refused to cut him, he was too aggressive. I had to painfully cut him myself. Wasnt too bad when he was younger, but as he got older he become more agitated and irritated.

Broke my heart to watch this. She looks exactly like our Muffin who we had for 17 years. Sadly a few years ago we had to put her down. Honey even has some of the same looks and gestures that Muffin had. Thanks for posting this.

Beautiful grooming job! And what a sweetie Honey is! She reminds me so much of my Lhasa who *hated* haircuts and would hide under the table until her hair grew out. My Lhasa would have loved this "teddie" cut. Her fearlessness was in direct relation to her length of hair, lol. Good girl, Honey! And sooo cute!

This is SO great!!! I have a Lhasa and always had her cut the same as my Shih Tzu, who we got first. No wonder the vet thought both my babies were Shih Tzu's! Honey is MUCH more docile than my Gabby. No comparison. I wish Gabby were as calm as Honey Girl for grooming.

I have a schapso but her hair is more of a Lhasa texture and type. What do you do with yours? I try to get her schnauzer cuts but they don’t fit with the hair type she has (she ends up looking homeless).

What a sweet little girl and masterful grooming. Those shears move with such confidence. I just adopted a rescue with severe anxiety. One vet wanted to put him on Prozac. I consulted another vet who gave non-drug guidance. Despite having two baths, his coat is matted and knotted -- he has a very thick coat. I watched this to see how grooming procedures go. Hope I can find someone as caring and capable as Ms. Beddoe.

What a great video! I have 3 Llasas and want to start grooming on my own so a great detailed video. Looking on amazon for a good trimmer can you share your insight as to which one you recommend ? Do you buy the blades all separately? I keep my dogs cut short. I really like the thinning shears!

This dog is cute but the cut itself is incredibly choppy especially the stomach and face. I don't know if you were rushed during this video but I hoped you cleaned up the lines afterwards. Just because its a pet groom does not mean the dog shouldnt look as good as if she was a show dog. I would be scolded for letting a dog leave like this. Years only means you know short cut not technique. My old co worker had 20 years under her belt and still chop jobs. You have to take this job seriously because every client is a walking billboard of your work

Adorable pet clip. I dont like the nasty comments left by other groomers here. You will ALWAYS have a certain amount on choppiness with straight haired breeds. The clipper blades were a little loud, were they dragging? Otherwise, it is fine. Note to the know it alls commenting here. Show standard grooming of straight haired breeds forbids the use of scissors or clippers. What part of NON show pet trim are you not hearing?
