I am just amazed at how well behaved she is. It is a testament to the care you have taken with her grooming. Thank you for sharing!

I love that you take such great care of your baby girl! A lot of people think that dogs are just dogs and as long as you keep them fed, then that is all that they need. Dogs need just as much love as kids and they need grooming. I have three chihuahuas and I treat them just like you treat Winnie. They are spoiled rotten but thats okay, they deserve the world. Thanks for posting Jen!

I love how you showed the top knot because I unfortunately was making mine to tight and couldn't figure out why Shifu has been rolling around on his head to get his bows out. Thank you for making all these video's I have been watching them all day.

Winnie is such a good doggie! You've definitely have her trained very well! I'd love to see the process you take when caring for her teeth....I struggle with my babies when brushing their teeth.

How do you keep her from taking it out?

Wow! What a great viedo. I have a yorkshire terrier and she has some beautiful bows which I love her to wear but I can never get them to sit nicely and stay in place. Now I know why; I have been doing it completely wrong. I will deffinately be trying your technique. Thank you so much for sharing your tips.

Winnie is so patient! Adorable video. Wishing my Shih Tzu had enough hair for a top knot. :) Looking forward to the next installment of the grooming series.

i love all of winnie's videos. I recently adopted a senior shih tzu from the local humane society and she is the love of my life, i treat her like my baby. Could you possibly do a video on how you take care of winnie during the winter time and how you deal with snow? I live in Florida but will be taking my dog with me up north for the holidays and just wanted to know if you had any tips in regards to taking care of skin, coat, paws etc. during winter. Thanks!

will this method still work with a dog with shorter, thiner hair like a yorkie?

I'm getting a shih tzu puppy in two weeks and I can not find the brush and comb you use. I have went on website to look but have found nothing but the brush cleaner you use to clean winnie brushes with.

I went to pets mart or petco and asked the groomers there what kind of brush i need for my dog and they walked me over and helped me find what i was looking for so maybe you can show them what you want and they can help?

i love how the instant you put the pillow around her neck, she lays down and stops moving. this is amazing. did you look up tips before you got winnie on how to train them for grooming? or did you just think, start early and she'd be good for grooming? you SHOULD be a professional. or, at least, considered a professional, because this is really impressive.... and also really, really cute.

Winnie is so adorable!! I notice she does not have any tear stains around her eyes. How do you upkeep the area around her eyes? Do you use any tear stain remover products/supplements?

I own three Lhasa Apos's which, as you will know, require similar grooming techniques to the Shih Tzu. I love watching you grooming Winnie because I find the 'professionals' video's way too fast and not very good with showing the detail. Many thanks for your time in making this series. x

Where do you get your 1/4 " & 5/16" bands at? I recently got two sweet little Shih Tzu girls (cream & white) and will be needing lots of bands for them. Your videos have been very helpful to me. Thank you

I was wondering what what age did you start putting in too knots on your puppy? Mine is 14 weeks old and not sure if his face needs to be clipped or o have to wait for his hair to grow more?!?
@luizal82639 жыл бұрын
+penny lail Jen unfortunately does not post or apparently check comments in this account anymore :( Though I am not Jen and can only speak for myself, I think I may be ablet to help as a fellow long-coat shih-tzu mom. I recommend starting as early as possible. It will not look as neat as Winnie's because puppy hair is different than adult hair not only in length but also in texture. Jen has a video on this channel that I think is called Winnie's winter essentials. In that video there are clips of Winnie very young with her little puppy pigtails; not very stylish but that's how it looks at the beginning for every little one. I wish I would have seen your comment sooner, as you probably already have your answer by now, but I thought I'd share in case someone else had the same question :) If you want you can check out my tzu at www(dot)facebook(dot)com/11gucci

I have a shih-tzu too! Though she's only 7 months old, and her hair isn't quite all grown out yet. I only do one tie with her, she doesn't need two yet. I need more bows though! Sw is twitchy when I groom her, but we're working on it! By the way, Winnie looks amazing!
