I noticed the same thing with the Farminator and all brushes similar (knock offs). It's a lot harsher on the dog's skin and coat than you would originally think. Took months of use to see that i was tearing the coat oit and not getting great results. Like his fur became choppy etc..

This was very helpful to watch! I have a German Shepherd and I notice her upper coat does come out when using the Furminator. Thanks for the suggestions on other great tools. I had a Husky ( Kiska) years ago and I still miss her. Huskies are a great breed!

Thank you so much for telling us about the furminator. I actually have one which works smoothly on my lab, but when I use it on my husky, I feel a little bit of hair pulling. I thought it was just my brush that was defective or that I was doing something wrong. Looks like its time for me to get a new rake.

Thanks for the advice I couldn’t decide on getting a furmanitor or not but now I know, I had got a husky pup about 2 months ago and I was wondering what should I start to use to groom my husky,also I wanna know do you guys groom your husky every day or every weekend because I don’t know how many times I should Brush my huskys a week

I swear by my furminator. My husky has a beautiful and soft coat but she isn’t a very fluffy husky so I think it’s a good brush for shorter coated huskies.
@Knuffelmaus4567 жыл бұрын
loved the video!❤ I've been using a Furminator like brush for a while now and since you said it pulls out the upper coat I'm definitely gonna try out what you showed and stop using it. I'm for sure going to add a rake to my brush collection and hope it'll help with Ace first shedding season 👍😊 thanks so much for making these videos! As a first time Husky owner I can definitely say they help out a lot! ❤

Enjoyable vid. Just a tip? Show the tools in closeup...reason is that some folks (like myself) live in areas where that particular brand may not be available. But if they've seen the actual teeth/tines etc. they may be able to get something close to it to do the same job, even if it's not the same brand.

Does anybody have the link for that chi palm brush in the beginning? I've been trying to find it online!
@marianassar43567 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info on the tools! As you know, I brush my 3 furry babies every night. I have a CHI brush, like the one you have, except it's 2 sided with a brush, but I like, the one with the palm! I use a slick brush too! Especially, for my husky, that's the one I use daily for him and he loves it! His coat is so soft, my other 2 lay on him as if he were a pillow! Thanks for the advise on the Furminator tool, I have one that I use for my Boxer mix and Rottie mix sometimes, I was just about to try it on my husky till I saw the video! Being a new husky mom, I'm still trying to understand his coat! THANK YOU HUSKY SQUAD! #Beckham🐾, #Rooney🐾, & #Axel🐾
@huskysquad7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much - we'll definitely look into the 2 sided CHI brush! We will share how we use these tools on our next Grooming video! ❤😃 As for the FURminator, it seems to work better with shorter coats. Event the long hair FURminator was a bit too harsh on the Squad's top coat. But for your Boxer and Rottie I'm sure it's totally fine!

Husky Squad I can't wait for the next videos! I also use the Kong brush as well, I have a red one, had it for 5years! Still works great! I can't wait to see how you use it to give them a bath! Never would have occurred to me!🐾🐾🐾😃

So you can't use a trimmer on huskies because of the upper coat? I just wanted use something that would save me an hour Or 3 depending on how bad their shedding.
@taylorlove96022 жыл бұрын
Why is it that some people say it pulls out the top coat and some say it doesn't? How can you tell if it does pull out the top coat? Even professional dog groomers use the furminator on huskies so I'm confused whether or not I should use it on my husky.

Hey Husky Squad :) we're getting our husky puppy in 2 days from now and I'm a bit confused with your recommendations…in your grooming videos you recommend a certain brand but in your amazon links there are the safari products, so, from your experience- which one I should buy? I'd really appreciate a fast replay because I want to buy them ASAP. Love you videos!!!
@huskysquad6 жыл бұрын
Chief's World the amazon links is our newest ones and we love them the most. However - have you thought about adopting a husky instead? There are thousands in kill shelters desperate to live ♥️🙌. We only rescue and it’s the best thing you can do! We’ll happily help you with the process. Rescue dogs are the most affectionate and they never forget you saved their life! Which state do you live?
@Gx2R6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replaying so quickly! I'm from Israel and a husky is not a dog that you can find on shelters here. It has been a long time dream to add a husky to the family and now it's possible :) so we're supper exited and your videos really help understanding a lot about huskies.

You’re welcome! Please be very mindful of the temperature and go hiking and running at sunrise or before. Huskies really don’t like the heat and it’s unfair that we as humanity breed them in such conditions where it’s not good for them. Nonetheless- I’m sure you guys will be great dog parents. Maybe you’ll consider moving to colder climates and collectively we can help stop the spreading/breeding of northern dogs in such harsh hot climates ❤️ if we lived in hot climates we would rescue dogs no matter the breed 🙌

I never realized that that was not the right feeling for brushing them, I feel so bad now!! All I ever used was a furmanatior .... my boy kept having hot spots on a spot where he would get a lot of hair (back/base of tail) and I thought was food allergy but wondering now if its from maybe using that and pulling out the top hairs! 😱 Well, trip to the pet store tomorrow, thank you SO MUCH! 👏👏 This was so so helpful!
