Coming from someone who IS a professional groomer, I think Winnie is very lucky! You do a great job and when you are a perfectionist, it only serves you better when applying latex bands to dog hair! :-) Shes beautiful and I am shocked that anyone would say the rude things to you that they do. Keep up the good work! Love that you shared your experience and I wish others would take the time to know their breed before they aquire a dog they have no idea how to care for. I did, I researched Shih Tzu's and researched some more. When I went to pick her up, the breeder let me have her at six weeks. They are easy to train when they are that little..

She puts a sedative in her water! She doesnt mention it but if you watch all ehr vidoes this crazy lady puts sedative drops in her drinking water! This lady is beyond crazy! Thats animal abuse! Shes puttint the dog in this sedative state jsut so she can have her way with the hair to satisfy her own motherly needs cuz she was infertile for years and couldnt conceive ntil last year.

If people travel with their pets, Veterinarians advise the owners to give benadryl. So you are screwed up. Do you have a Shih Tzu?

Giving her treats after being groomed does the trick! My shih tzu stays very still while being groomed, and this is because I give her snacks after, if she stays calm

I love how dedicated you are to Winnie, I have a 6 month Shih Tzu and keep her short haired because I can barely find the time to do all the daily grooming, but props to you for making time for Winnie and specially for all your hard work :)

Absolutely ADORABLE! Have had Tzu for 30 years but never with a full coat. Just got my last puppy and thought about trying to maintain her coat long. So appreciate the info! My Daisy will look precious if I can convince her to sit still long enough!

Help!!!!!! My little boy Sully will not have the one ponytail! He's 8 months old and is still very wiggly during his grooming sessions. When did Winnie start sitting so nice and still? I have 7 shih tzu. 5 girls and 2 boys. i enjoy grooming time with them. two of the girls love it, the rest hate it. i feel its a great bonding time for us. one on one. I love them with their cute pigtails (which only last 5 minute if lucky lol).

Pigtails look perfect to me :) She is adorable. How did you train her to sit? My baby is 6 months old and has been wearing pony and pigtails since she was 4 months. I can't get her to sit still. I do her hair everyday.

Hi I understand where your coming from lilly was that way at that age as well. I just kept it up and now after two year s of the same routine she will lay lime winnie does just get into a routine and they catch on pretty fast. Also try having a special treat she gets after each grooming and that's the only time they get that specific treat. Best of luck

I think it's partly the breed; my shih tzu is also super calm and laid-back. The vet saw her lying on the table once, stretched out on her back, and said, "Good grief, she looks toxic!" but she was just chilling, lol

I think so! But most people get them cut shorter because its better for them. Grooming can be time consuming and expensive, so most shih tzu owners go for the puppy cut!!

Maybe she's a housewife or has a homebased business. Maybe her husband does very well because he works hard at it. Why the intrusive questions? It is not wrong to do very well in life or be a housewife. I am one, and I find things to do to be economical for a comfy life for both me and my husband. If you work hard, or find a home based job, this could be you too.
