Thats because a lot of groomers now a days are comfort groomers. And don't want to bush out even the smallest matt. So they shave them. You have to do more schooling to do show grooming.

I used to use my blades to get some of the leg hair shorter and shaped. Then scissors finish. Saved work and time on well behaved dogs.

Gorgeous tapered legs on Vuitton . I don’t groom anymore but I’m finally getting my 10 year old rescue standard poodle. In about a week to ten days. I’m excited. That’s why I’m watching all kinds of videos to cut my time but quality finish dog groom. I’ll take him to a groomer every few months for a spa day. 🐩. Ordering a bed and a few things.

I watched this video again before my boy's groom yesterday. I find it so beneficial. I used the blaster at distance to start the dry on my boy's topknot and ears. This speeded things up a lot which was good. I love the tip of using the clunkers at the base of the tail and over the hip bones. Getting my boy to sit and then clip upwards on his chest to the neck is a much better way of getting rid of unnecessary hair. And stretching the hair up at the groin to clip it is a much safer way to do this. Thank you Kitty.

Excellent! My standard poodle is 15 years old and I have decided not to bring her to groomers any more as she becomes very stressed, and we don’t want that. So I bought a clipper and will do my best to groom her myself. This video was very helpful. However, my clipper does not have the same blades and combs as yours. Hopefully I will be able to work with what I have. Thank you so much for producing this video. It was extremely informative and inspiring.

Hello Jeanne, I totally understand at the age of 15 it's not so easy anymore and also causes stress to both dog and groomer. At home, you can groom in stages and that's much better for the dog. Don't forget there are also teachers out there who could help you a few times to show you what to do. I only have one video on an elderly dog and it's an English Cocker.
