i like to listen to tommy igoe even though his playing is difficult i try and try until i get to play it on my drumset

I don't think age is an issue, its mainly down to how much time you have to practice and motivation. If anything you can make amazing progress at an older age if you are highly motivated. A lot of youngsters start out keen and lose interest very quickly as they realise its hard work. I don't see any less ability in an adult compared to a child apart from time factor.

@suriname89c i've been drumming for 30 years, 10 years pro, but as i said , this guy makes it look so simple, but its hard work! especially when you hit 40! do you play drums?

Besides the absolutely amazing Peter Erskine, Tommy is the only reason why I watch the modern Buddy Rich Memorial concert. They are both like watching silk make love with chocolate :)

If I had a teacher like Tommy when I was starting out, I would have taken more interest in the theory side of drumming. I had very boring (older) teachers who who took all the enjoyment out of going to a lesson.
