I bought two sets of ones you find cheap on Amazon. Honestly, they’re okay. They did advertise them as metallic. Well there was nothing metallic about any of them. The silver was gray and gold was a yellow/brown color (not horrible) but certainly not gold as you would expect. I will wear them when I’m doing water activities or just hanging around the house. Even wear the gold one on my ring finger when I’m going somewhere unfamiliar or “sketchy” as I don’t need my real rings stolen. This are also good to use in the summer if your fingers swell and your regular rings get too tight and uncomfortable to wear. Same goes for winter. At times when your fingers get so cold your rings tend to slip off. These could be used as a preventative barrier placed in front your regular ring to prevent slippage. Or use them for winter sports. No need to wear your jewelry while skiing, etc under a glove. Accidents happen and removing a cold glove might result it removing your good ring right along with it. Wear a silicon one instead. Wear silicon rings when doing housework like dishes. Wear them in the shower or when getting ready. Real rings shouldn’t be subjected to prolonged abuse. As a Fine Jewelry Consultant (GIA), I always removed all my jewelry especially my rings when I came home from work. It kept my jewelry clean and reduced any chances of unnecessary abuse. I’ve seen some disgusting rings that ladies wore 24/7. Dirty is an understatement. Sometimes the dirt was the only thing holding loose stones in place. When I’d professionally clean them I’d have to be super careful with them. Checking prongs, looking at even damaged or worn diamonds gemstones stones, bent or worn out shanks. It was no picnic. Colored gemstones should never be worn 24/7 unless it’s a sapphire, ruby, or spinel. Everything else is too soft. These are a great solution for many different reasons. Hopefully they make them more appealing to women in the future.

Some peole have jobs where they work with heavy machinery, and with a metal ring, there's a risk of getting it caught on something and pulling your finger out of it's socket, or off, like Jimmy Fallon. I wear a “generic” version of a silicon ring and do so because I am a Firefighter. I used to wear a titanium ring but there is risk and history of firefighters being “degloved” and losing a finger. It’s not pretty. So I switched to silicon. The generic version I have does leave my finger prunny, so I might just try groove rings. Thanks.

My husband and I both have these. He wears his all of the time and really likes it over his traditional band. I feel like mine is a little too thick for a female band but it is comfortable for travel, sports, etc.

Basically like those Fad silicone bracelets that still hang around. Still in my opinion a Fad, and waste of money for the price.
@michaelwrigley54386 жыл бұрын
I feel like the difference between silicone rings and a silicone bracelet is people already wear rings every day. Being married I where a ring pretty much 24/7. I like silacone rings cause I can wear them the the gym, mountain biking, are anywhere else and it never gets in the way. You don't have to worry about loosing at scratching it either. I have a carbon fiber/wood ring I wear on special occasions, but 99% of the time my ring is silicone.

I, too, was thinking about those silicone bracelets that hv been around forever. When they 1st came out, when I was a kid, they were a very simple line bracelet. Then the thick "live-strong" types came along.. that's what these rings make me think of. The thicker type bracelets of today.

I vape and my vape pen came with a couple of these silicone rings that you're supposed to put around the glass on the tank to protect it from cracking or breaking if you drop it. I put one of the rings on my vape pen and I just wear the other one on my finger. I haven't had any issues at all with it and have had it on for a few months. I've seen them at vape shops for a dollar in all different sizes and thicknesses. So, there's that option to avoid the 40 bucks.

The most important factor that I think you missed is the long-term durability based on a lot of the reviews that I have read on these type of silicone rings. I think you should wear one for a few months and then do a follow up review.

I bought a 4 pack of silicone rings off of amazon 3 years ago for $12. I wore a black silicone wedding band, since I lost my $650 band on my 1 yr anniversary, for 3.5 yrs. It finally wore thin and broke in September. For $3, cannot complain. I prefer the silicone bands as they stretch, they're cheap, and I never worry about ruining or losing them.

Also Ive put a few pounds on since I got married and my old ring was getting tight. A lot cheaper than a new gold ring! Don’t think your suppose to flip them inside out as the grooves are suppose to help them breathe.

I guess the contrasting colours are so you don't accidentally wear it inside out?I used to wear a ring completely made of jade, and one summer after about five weeks wearing it continually (swollen fingers meant it was easier to leave it on all the time) my finger went past "pruney" into "slimey" and I had to get it removed :(

I work in the mining industry and have been wearing a silicone wedding ring for 3 or 4 years. It isn't a groove ring but it's basically the same. My only complaint is that the rings stretch over time and I've replaced mine once. Silicone rings are great for anyone like me who work in an industry that doesn't allow metal rings for saftey reasons.

Alot of people involved in horses wear these rings. It only takes one time to get your ring caught in a halter of a horse for it to rip off a finger. These are much safer to wear

Silicone and rubber rings are great for tradesmen and athletes I feel. I’m an electrician and that’s why I wear a rubber ring. But it’s also good because you eliminate the possibility of “degloving” your finger. (Google at your own risk). I like it it’s my wedding ring for work or anywhere I go. I don’t care about a metal ring because they are expensive. I’d rather use that money for other things.

they look pretty cool and like the fact that you can (though that wasnt the design originally) wear them inside out and change the colour .. esp to match an outfit (girls moreso would like this idea rather than guys) maybe they would make the design so BOTH sides had the groove .. but seems like even the side that didnt have the groove worked the same way on skin .. but is the single one 40 ?? ouch maybe that for the set wouldnt prob pay more than 10 for a single one

To all of those saying there is no need to wear a ring...you are absolutely right. However, no matter the job people have they should have an option if they want to. My Dad and Mom have been married 40 years and after a close call with machinery in his early twenties my Dad didn't wear his wedding ring unless going out or to a family function. He also was upset that a diamond fell out of his ring and didn't want to chance losing more. He has seen rings like this and said if they had something like this when he was younger he could see himself buying one. Married coworkers I have wear rings similar to this so they don't lose their more pricier rings but still want to show their commitment to their spouses, and they are glad to have that choice. So while there is no real need to wear a ring like this or any other ring for that matter, it is nice that people who do have the desire to have a choice. As far as the price, there are other silicone ring options out there that are cheaper.

I think you should compare them to a regular silicone ring. I wear a silicone ring that isn't a name brand and I never have issues with it when I'm wearing it but when I wash my hands I always have to pull the ring down and dry my finger under where the ring was sitting. It does bother me to have to keep doing that and I wonder if I would have to do that with these rings.
