We have an older Whirley Pop with the see through window in the lid. The material in the window finally broke from use and am wondering if anyone knows where to get a replacement? We have a piece of aluminum foil stuck across the opening for right now.

I'm starting to realize how gross other people's kitchens are... Like, we ALL know now that people in the UK don't rinse their dishes. I wash the dishes in our house, and I wash the inside AND OUTSIDE of everything. I didn't realize other people only wash the top of their plates, the inside of cups and bowls, the cooking surface of pota and pans. But these things get stacked together... So it all gets dirty immediately after drying because the dirty bottom of one plate is now on top of another... That's nasty... You're supposed to wash the ENTIRE dish. And silverware.... YOU HAVE TO WASH THE FUCKING HANDLE, TOO...🤢 You really can't eat at everyone's house.... My mom taught me how to wash dishes... At least my kitchen and my mom's are clean...

I can’t stop laughing at those veneers. I know it shouldn’t be funny but I just can’t help it. They make you look so damn goofy. And it’s funny how Hot Hands are on here considering in a recent video he revealed he still uses them to this day!

The timer is not weird at all, just imagine there are 2 digits behind the screen to count the seconds, then it all makes sense. Immediately after it starts, the minute goes down one number + 59 seconds next to it.

Those recipes and instructions actually sound shitty af... a real chef would probably toss that book into the trash and use the air fryer in better ways.

I've had my whirley pop since I was like 10 years old. I'm now 27. It's still going strong! No reason to spend $200 when this thing can make great popcorn in under 5 minutes.

You canmake popcorn with foil, a bit of butter and whatever kind of flavoring without any pot just a foil pouch, cooks like the old Jiffy Pop domes.... I love using caremel in it and can make small or large amounts of popcorn

I've been using the same WhirleyPop for decades, it makes perfect (to my taste) popcorn. Buy top-grade popcorn in the grocery store and keep its lid closed. The recipe is easy -- one TBSP of oil (I like Olive Oil) for 40g of popcorn. Add the oil and a 2-3 kernels and put it on medium-high heat. When the first kernel pops, add the rest of the corn, close the lid, and start whirling. If it fills up, just pour some out into bowl and continue. My family and I prefer it with salt and no butter or anything else. You can use more or less oil depending on your taste preferences -- we find that the amounts I describe here result in the best tasting corn. I wipe the popper with a few paper towels after I'm done. I wash it with warm soapy water every few months. It's true that the gear on the top gets yucky, but that never contacts anything inside the popper so no harm done. I would never pay $200 for a popcorn popper, and the "kit" is a utter ripoff. My WhirleyPop came with a recipe book that I lost years ago. There really is no need for kits, special flavors, or anything like that. If you like butter on your popcorn, then just melt some while the popcorn is popping and pour it over the finished result before adding salt.

I have a classic whirley pop and it's an absolute gem!. Add 1/2 cup of kernels, 1 teaspoon of Flavocol, and three heaping scoops of butter flavored coconut oil and you have something BETTER than movie theater stuff. Definitely put the Flavocol in with the oil and kernels. Every kernel pops. It pops fast so it's not like you're standing there for an hour cranking. It's literally a minute. Whirley all the way baby!!!

@kylehazachode13 сағат бұрын
Just use a wok with lid. The shape of a wok keeps the kernels in the oil and popped kernels don’t burn. They will naturally make their way above the oil

My complaint with my whirly pop is that the lid can't be cleaned very well and gets gummed up really easily and can't be put in the dishwasher so that's a big plus for the pop smith (not sure it's a $200 plus)
@Sean-oy5ks15 сағат бұрын
My Whirly Pop is still going strong after 15 years. The small handle fell off the end, but it still cranks! For perfect popcorn, I drop a good slice of butter (2-3 Tbsp) into the mix just after they start popping. But it with some ballpark salt, and you've got perfection!

For the price of 200 bucks that lid should fit on that sucker snug and not move a bit. It was a sloppy fit and for that reason I'm out.

These machine first appeared on TV infomercials over 30 years ago. They are a total waste of money. A total pain to clean. They work very slowly and don't produce much at a time. The best thing is to just mix pasta dough in a bowl and cut it using the traditional methods.

I probably wont buy one because i have my favorite popcorn pot and know how to make it the manual way, but I can see that these things would have a lot less splatter and flying corns.
@byrons895615 сағат бұрын
I don't know if that $200 is worth it since you're still manually spinning the handle. I did buy a Zippy Pop popcorn maker, which is more like the Whirley Pop but has a glass top and a hole in the lid to pour in the oil, popcorn, and flavoring.

You can use a heavy bottom stainless steel pan with a lid and do the same thing and it isn't a uni-tasker.
