Ordered mine today! This thing does everything I struggle to do with 4 hardware synths, a MacMini M1, and iPad Pro 12”, a 61 key midi controller, Arturia SparkLE and a frustrating USB + 5 pin and 3.5mm DIN MIDI spaghetti mess!!! I CAN’T WAIT!!!

MC -707 sound is amazing...very different like other Roland but very god and many vintage sound have nice efekts. I have all MC by roland..and all is so different to aspect sound engine. This last MC-707 is very warm and brightnes sound. Like "hifi system" but cooperate very god with other hardware and is possible make sound more wet, dry and many other color..with full dynamic...is very versatile.

still debating if to get the mc 505 for a "less hi fi sounding" and a real end of 90's machine vs mc 909...and now perhaps mc 707 although the zen core digital vst'ish engine doesnt appeal to me. Any thoughts?

Wonderful! I'm only missing some presence, some clarity or transparence in the drums especially, though. Maybe it would pair really good with a Digitakt, which has such a clear and full power. The synth flute and melodic sounds do really work, good job on the VA side by Roland!

I would like to have your opinion on a techno / trance set. I don't want to go through a computer anymore I was planning to buy an Analog Rythm MK2 and an Analog Four MK2, as well as a Roland MC 707 and TR 8S and for the bass line a mam mb33, this way I will have a varied sound palette. What do you think ? Thank you in advance for your response and advice.
@vanderson_pl
@vanderson_pl 3 жыл бұрын
It depends on what sound character you want to get. Elektron & Roland have different sound possibilities, I don't know how they will sounds together... but all the machines you talk about are good and will perform well on stage :)
@PHOENIX-fb1cf
@PHOENIX-fb1cf 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. Rather minimal Techno style of music and Tance uplifting year 1990 to 2010. Elektron seems more punchy with an infinite number of variations, Roland with a wider sound spectrum. Taking the two Elektron and the two Roland would perhaps be an exaggeration, hence my dilemma of choice. Thank you again for your answer.

Thanks for posting your work. I have really enjoyed them and found them very inspiring too! I am looking to get a sequencer/drum machine (groovebox) to jam with my Minilogue XD, but I can't decide between the Roland MC707 and the Synthstorm Deluge. Can you offer any advice ? My feeling is the Deluge is possible more flexible, a better sequencer and more fun to work with, but the MC707 has better sound quality, more direct hands on control, but doesn't offer such good midi features. I'm planning to work DAWlessly with the Minilogue XD and the one groovebox for the time being to create ambient/techno just for my own pleasure. Thanks for the any thoughts you can give...

If it's still relevant: I own an mc707 too and for my personal use case it's the best device out there. Pros over other comparable devices are that it is incredibly hands-on to perform with if you get into it. Everything has multiple shortcuts, having both a step sequencer and live input, and knobs and faders just make it so much more fun to perform. Also the synth engine is actually really deep once you dive into it. Cons are that if you actually want to produce dawless with it, the bass gets muddy if you layer multiple sounds and it's quite a pain to adjust the EQ on everything to clean that up. Also most presets only use the pcm engine and thus sound kind of cheap (or retro, depending on who you ask). I use it as an idea machine, and as a companion device for hybrid DJ setups. I'd say: if you dont care that much for live performability and want a wide array of functionality (especially for sampling) and optimal sound quality, go for an mpc one. If you want to focus on sequencing external gear, go for the deluge or the mpc one. I personally just dislike the deluge workflow but you have to try that out to be sure if it's something for you. If you want something that has good sound design in the box, is really accessible and fun to play with, and is closer to an ableton clip view than something to make full songs with, go with the mc707.
