I cannot tell you how much pleasure I have got from TRYING to learn to play this very cool, funky tune. I finally learnt to play all the notes; I just need to get it up to speed - JUST:):) . I had planned to do a video of me "playing" it, as requested. For a long time it was a fairly hopeless dream but I think it's beginning to approach the stage where it may be entertaining - at least from a comedic point of view.

As announced on the last comment, I DID practise all day long and now it's night and I'm on level 3, in a quite acceptable tempo. It's crazy now to watch the full song played by you in the beginning. I really understand the first 3 levels now! I even play them! When i first watched the video, I thought it would take ages until I would barely understand the riffs! Hopped back onto this one recently - accordsing to my last comment here, 8 months ago I could *almost* play level 2, now can work my way through the boss level at very slow (but not so steady, working without the metronome for now) pace. Funny, a few days ago the interlude seemed absolutely impossible, now when I'm playing through the boss level I'm pleased when it comes around again, and i can play "the easy bit" :o

Just wanted to say another big THANK YOU Jonathan, I am enjoying the learning/improving (hopefully:)) experience sooo much. Just got the first half of the Interlude up to 80bpm. Having to force myself to practise the earlier levels at a slower tempo than I want as I was finding that I was sacrificing accuracy for speed. This has been slightly frustrating, especially as my progress has slowed as the levels have increased. Another great plus has been the pleasure of starting to feel I'm getting some degree of control over my fingers; hard to describe. Thanks again, I am loving it, so appreciate all the thoughtful effort you put into it!

Hi Jonathan, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your videos. I've been playing keys off and on (mostly off) for years, my main playing being standing in for absent keys players in my church worship band. But it's always been very basic stuff. I always dreamt about being able to play a bit better but, for some reason, believed I would not be able to. One day a really good keys player came along to something I was involved in and what he was doing just blew me away. I decided I'd like to try and learn to play a bit better. I started googling and came across your channel and the first video I watched was this one - Boss Level. I love good strong rhythms and although my initial impression was there was "no way I could ever play this" I was so encouraged by your amazing two step approach - ie. 1. Start with a simple version and gradually build in complexity, and 2. It's close relative, start slow and gradually build up speed. I've followed this, along with (for the first time in my life:)) practising scales and chords, and I have been astounded and so pleased that I'm seeing such a huge, unexpected improvement.
