Yeah, you start listening to this fun, upbeat poppish band and you are amazed, then someone says "If you like groovie ghoulies you are totally going to love The Ramones and The Misfits" so you get curious, look for those bands and before you realized you're tracking all of the nearest local punk shows and every famous band concert so you won't miss any.

Miss this band, pretty much grew up on their music and seeing them play as a teenager. I would get SO excited when they played in my area, you'd think they were Elvis. Always asked them to play Bay Bridge Club for me :)

Um this is not punk music. When I was a kid punk music was Dead Kennedys and Bad Religion. What is wrong with the singer's voice? Why is he trying to sound like an 8yr old boy? Blink 182 have already been there and done that.

The point I'm making is that punk is a movement, not a sound, and the motto of that movement is anti-establishment. Once it becomes part of the establishment either through mass popularity or through the infusion of pop sensibilities then it's no longer punk. I think that's a reasonable statement to make and if you disagree then that's your opinion which you're entitled to same as I'm entitled to mine. Anyone would think you're the lead singer's brother the way you responded to my comment. There's no need for that tone, there's already enough haters in the world without you jumping on the bandwagon 💯

The Groovy Ghoulies have been around since 1983, well predating bands like Blink 182. It's just fun Ramones and 60s garage rock influenced punk rock. Punk has always had a pop sensibility, be it the buzzcocks, the dickies, the Ramones etc. Personally I love the DKs and Bad Religion but there's plenty of room for punk bands doing a different style.
