George Martin having dinner with Glyn putting his mind at ease about producing as well as engineering…2 legendary music producers right there at the same table.

Glyn’s finest moment in the Get Back movie: George (twanging): “Glyn! Is this in tune?” Glyn: “It’s good enough for skiffle”

Which is what McCartney said in 1991 during his MTV unplugged special. I wonder if he remembered it from Glyn

Greetings. I just today came across your channel. Being a big Beatles fan, I'm very surprised I hadn't run across your videos. Happily, today I did! Three cheers, thumbs up, and well done! I'll definitely be checking out your channel. Thanks for all your efforts and hard work!

Recording drums in stereo is NOT called 'the Glyn Johns method'. He's referring to using to mics positioned for bringing out the full kit sound. Not necessarily in stereo. Ringo's been in stereo many times before Glyn Johns arrived.

Paul isn't too happy about Glyn's telling him what to play, Paul knows what to play and wants to work it out himself. But they're all on camera, so Paul let's it slide.

Apparently the idea behind the Get Back concept had its origin with how well the Hey Jude/Revolution promo video shoot went with Michael Lindsay-Hogg. At that time things were frosty, Ringo literally had just come back after leaving The White Album sessions and they found being in a controlled environment with an audience ( not screaming fans a la concert ) was fun. They even used Twickenham for the David Frost filmed introduction. Hence why using Glyn in a similar role that Lindsay-Hogg had played seemed a better fit than having George Martin playing producer

The Beatles always had that sense of humour and were so funny. You can see why George Martin was taken by their northern humour. He had recorded a lot of comedy prior. When they first went to the US they were asked when they would get a hair cut, George said 'I had mine cut yesterday'.

Great vid! What a legend, hangin with rock royality, cool as a cucumber. I'm "team Glyn" when it comes to the Let it Be mix. Bought the boot years ago on cd. Much looser. I even prefer the cover art. Lots of Get Back snipetts in your vid, how's ya get away with that? lol Keep 'em coming. Subbed.

Glyn meticulously picked the winning takes for the single releases of Get Back, Don’t Let Me Down, Let It Be, The Long and Winding Road, and For You Blue (George later re-recorded his vocal). My favorite takes of I’ve Got a Feeling, Dig a Pony and The Two of Us are from his original Get Back album. I wish the Peter Jackson film had included the live takes of all these songs. Like the original concept of a released live album the Beatles had said they wanted.
@taketwo-e5u3 күн бұрын
There is a lot of full songs missing in Get Back that were in Let It Be. I get the feeling that Peter Jackson wanted to show all the banter for us to see the happy side of what was going on which I also think was his remit from the remaining Beatles.

In Philadelphia, there was this one record store which had a window full of 'Get Back' bootlegs. I bought the 'Get Back to Toronto' bootleg long before the 'Let It Be' album. The former was definitely more enjoyable to listen to than the latter (except for the John and Yoko malarkey speech at the end!!)

In all of the Get Back videos, there is this air of the four Beatles not really having their hearts into it and not knowing what to do. I also find these videos hard to watch, because I love The Beatles and miss them and will never understand their breakup

Glyn is great, but he's an engineer and assistant to the Beatles, and not a producer, nor a collaborator. He's there to help, and he's doing so. And he's great. But stop lying for the sake of the video.

So it's attention that you want is it? I can understand, when everyone else is focusing on a group as talented and successful as The Beatles and you don't have anything constructive to add then it's hard to get people to notice you. So tossing out the equivalent of Flat Earth nonsense is probably the only thing that will work for you. Even better is if you can get people to argue with you because then you will get even more attention. Good luck in your endeavor.
