My theory is a John is a some bug character that has created by real real real groovy in roblox studio. And then john escaped from the roblox studio and then enter the game script John its a first npc that is has deployed, Thats why john its so powerfull in the game. Edit:and then john is creating a world and created groovydomies npc and carl npc and all npc in the game. At that game john was a evil npc, hes killing and respawn npc. All the npcs made by john at that time were tormented. And then all npc is find a way how to seal john in diamond house. Finaly all npc succesfully seal john in the diamond house. Here's what I think (I based some things off of your theory) While the actual Groovy was coding or something, he accidentally made a bug while coding the Groovy NPC, and made a actual sentient NPC (which is John). The game was extremely bugged now, so the actual Groovy just kinda abandoned it.
