I watched it recently and....I mean...it could have been worse, they could've gone all out and weird with the sci-fi aspect but all i saw was just a Scooby-Doo-esque type of movie, with a Daphne dudette looking for her Fred, and instead of a talking dog, you had Ace going "ack"🤣🤣🤣🤣. Is it the best movie??? No. Is it god awful??? Not to that degree, to me at least. It's just '70s cheese.

@@GroovyStrawberry, Two totally different soundtrackS, alternate scenes. different openings. Chamber of thrills with deedee, chopper, and slime is 1 minutes shorter in this version, When Melissa asks What's that humming noise? Ace's humorous response ''Beethoven's fifth'' is removed. Some scenes are in different sequences, I Stole your Love is interrupted in this, but not in the other. Peter says Seems a little too quiet if you ask me to which Ace responds Well why didn't you say so? Then loudly sings SHE WANTS A ROCKET RIDE, SHE WANTS A ROCKET RIDE isn't in the Phantoms version either. There's just too many differences to list them all. This isn't just for you. This is for everyone that doesn't realize there are two entirely different versions of the same movie.

It was just a quick money grab set up by the record company. Peter had his lines re-dubbed by another actor and Ace often refused to show up for filming, forcing the crew to use his stunt double in the make-up and costume; an African American man. Both of them wanted as little to do with the movie as possible. Paul and Gene had a rule that no one was mention the movie in their presence.
