As ever, I really enjoyed this. I'm one of those people who never burn, and this is due to me having the genetic condition, neurofibromatosis (type one) I don't understand why this is, but it is commonly the case with people who have it. We often are also vitamin D deficient too, from what I understand of it our skin cant absorb certain parts of the sunlight properly; resulting in the deficiency and the lack of sun burn. Neurofibromatosis type one is a mutation of chromosome 17. It can cause a host of problems, i'm long term disabled due to it; but the ability to tan well is a silver lining. Tho we do still have to be careful in the sun as the cancer risk is still there and slightly raised. So only a thin lining on that cloud. Anywhoo, great video :)

if you really want your sunburn to go away, add coconut oil on the parts that are burned. not only does it make your sunburn go away quicker, in relieves the pain also.
@SoulSociety20213 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't apply coconut oil to sunburn because it can trap heat on your skin and prolong painful inflammation. Coconut oil isn't an ideal moisturizer because it is too thick to penetrate the skin properly.

I whacked it down my left arm yesterday after being put for an hour and coming back in slightly red. Today, it’s fully brown and the skin on that arm both looks and feels a ton healthier and better moisturised than that on my right arm. Hmm, I'm curious about something in regards to the spots I saw on the skin of a person depicted at 3:46 I have a bunch of spots on my skin that look like freckles (my grandmother called them angel kisses), and there used to be a few, starting to appear on my shoulders, and eventually I started seeing them everywhere else. Each year, even in areas that don't see the sun, I would see a new brown spot. Is it due to sun damage on the skin that these freckle-like spots are appearing? Or could it be something else? I've tried to find the answer to this, but I'm still uncertain.

@Roll5878 жыл бұрын
I don't remember exactly, but I think freckles are caused by unequal distribution of melanin. Sun exposure activates it in the same way a tan does. I think because people who freckle tend to me very fair, they are still at a high risk of skin cancer regardless of the freckles.

Hello to whoever is reading this! I am a person who can stay in the sun for hours at a time and all I do is tan, and rarely get burnt. But when I do get burnt, it just turns straight into a tan within a few days and I never peel. Is that not normal to happen or am I just lucky?

If melanocytes get destroyed, can that result in areas of your skin that don't tan?

Imagine having the protective layer around the earth disappear that protects use from the sun and solar winds

I don't sunburn easily (nearly never) but I did a few days ago and I feel betrayed by my own body
