Never graduated high school and has more brains in his finger than most folks with a PHD. RIP

This is the funniest segment I've seen between Groucho and Cavett.

I'm totally amazed by just how confident he is in his own ability to be funny. Staggering.

Classic TV here, folks. Also, I am amazed how this set looks compared to the ones of today. Cavett's set was soooo "1970's" !

I agree. The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, the Three Stooges, Martin and Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, they're all still splitting sides in my household.

@farfisa that just proves my point, how human it is to be human.

Despite being a brilliant talk show host, Dick Cavett was insecure about his hosting. When Groucho compliments him, you can tell it means a lot to him :)

@itsaguinness that hat was made for him by a friend. it has 3 people on top (suppose to be the groucho brothers) he said it was so hideous, he couldn't not wear it.

Here they are two of the great thinkers of our world -- comedy, politics, etc. If only *all* of the world's such people like this could be translated into all 242 lingo's and made avail -- what a "classroom on the air" (cota? coda?) -- when "public broadcasting" first started there was the "Continental College" of the air. hmmm - hope...

@farfisa Well, I'll be perfectly honest with you, I didn't think I'd have to worry about psychopaths randomly cussing at me on 1960's interview with Groucho Marx youtube video. Good luck with all your strange hostility and I hope my past self does not continue to bother you.

Pre-Reagan. Wonder what Groucho would of said if he lived to see him become president?

Nope, I logged in once and logged out once. and all while eating a bowl of pudding. Your comment "negative"ed itself.

loves this. but Groucho had no taste in hats... what is that?
@theresaholguin6994 жыл бұрын
Itsaguinness it's a hat that Groucho purchased at a golf club for $ 2.50 to wear to play golf. He really liked that hat
